I noticed that the executive floor at the HI BNE has signage with the new logo so I wonder if they are going to rebrand the hotel when the room refurb is complete.

That is leaving aside the rumour that it won't be a HI any more:shock:, of course
It was up for as http://www.australianfrequentflyer....-news/brisbane-holiday-inn-up-sale-32880.html

Has anybody here used StubHub | phillies.com: Tickets to purchase tickets to the US baseball?

When I am in the US in April I would love to see a game and the Phillies are playing the Nationals or even better the White Sox v the Mets. Am just having trouble working out how to purchase a ticket.

With baseball it is virtually never a sell out so you can go to the stadium a little early and buy good seats that suit your needs at the ticket window.
Take into account the game time for if it is during the day you may prefer to avoid the sun in your eyes seats. My sons use stub hub for the sought after, harder to get seats and sometimes they sell them back if their plans change.
At the baseball the crowd gets into serious eating and drinking so if you are used to doing that at Australian games you attend you will fit in very well.
If you cannot get the site to work PM me and I can give you my sons contact number as they are serious Stubhub users.

Left my frequent flyer card in ADL today. :(

Bronze beauty from back when QF moved away from the old white stock to the coloured bronze cards!

Oh well. Guess the new silver one that will arrive in a few months will have to do

I realise how lame silver is to most. But for me, it's like being a WP.

Thanks for the offer! I've been backtracking in my head and I think I left it in the hotel room.

If I can be bothered I'll give them a ring later on today and see if it turned up.

No worries. Congrats for having silver penciled in.

Currently at the Sheraton CDG with a decent sized room with a nice view over the runway. Pity it's dark! Let's see what the view is like in the morning..... bedtime!

My Arguscarhire.com into Thrifty in Los Angeles got me a Mercury Marquis instead of the Dodge Charger I requested. Anyway it was a handful to park so today I switched it to a Chevy Impala which is way less of a highway floater and must be about 2 or 3 feet shorter.
The Thrifty counter tried everything to sell me more insurance ,rent a GPS and take breakdown insurance.
Now this is no different to Dollar,National and Alamo so as usual I declined the lot and I took the Gold package which suits me.
I have AAA membership and a GPS. If you are in the US for more than 20 days you just buy a GPS.
You get a free tank of fuel supplied and they expect you to return it empty.
I am very happy with the switch as I had a feeling I could misjudge the Mercury length and shorten it in a parking attempt.

Nothing lame about it at all. When you've been NB for so long, PS seems like you've climbed the proverbial Mount Everest - or at least reached a low order base camp.

Of course in my day people were a lot tougher, 'cos it took another 50 SCs before you got to PS. :p :D

Thank you Des Renford! I earned my 1st ever PS the hard way thank you very much :P

In a case of Murphy's law which I seem to suffer in perpetuity, the announcement to drop the PS qualification level came 2wks after I come back from an Asian trip which took me to 430 SC for my qualifying year.

And to add insult to injury, my currently qualifying year ends at Midnight - with only 70 SC to speak of thanks to 10 months of unemployment. While crossing my fingers to be comped PS for the next year, I have two chances of this happening - buckleys and none.

West Africa is rather interesting. When I have a few moments I might put together a mini TR on my journey from London to here.

What do you reckon - FASA or JASA on QF63 SYD-JNB? Is the extra points for F worth it? I am going to be taking the other half on their first DONE4, and I wonder whether I should treat them to F on the first leg or join me in J on the remaining leg of my last ex-JNB DONE4.

Maybe a JASA then try to upgrade, apparently it can be very beneficial to change online a JASA to FASA!
