Gamble paid off, upgrade to J confirmed for my SIN-FRA flight. What's the chances of it being a re-fit 744 with MK II skybeds?

Yes, she must. As someone that has been on the inside of the tube as well as anaesthetised countless little ones for MRI, I know how awkward it would feel. My thoughts are with you.

Although it might reassure you to know that having been in there myself, apart from being bored I didn't find it particularly distressing. It's not much more claustrophobic than a Skybed. Although I don't know how young she is.

If the head movement is a big deal a light anaesthetic would solve that. Sometimes kids come back for that for better images.

Im having an afl weekend. Lions at bne Dj lounge, essendon at my hotel and now the virgin lounge.

Quite interesting to see one player making a ham and cheese muffin using the toaster...

Probably low (I think the first refits were deployed on the Trans-Pacific). But, it's still better than Y. Yes, even better than a 4-seater lay-flat :)

You did quite well getting that upgrade! Maybe it's not that popular a route for upgrades... or not the right season...

Little Miss is getting an MRI at the moment, and I can't be in there due to a body piercing I can't remove. Mr Katie is with her. So hard - just heard the technician ask her to be completely still to take another two minute picture. Her involuntary head nodding is why she's there ... being still is a BIG challenge!!

Hope Little Miss is OK - she's so brave having to go through these at her age.

Tough choices tonight - do I watch the Monaco F1 or the Eurovision broadcast? I suspect it'll be F1 and the final hour of Eurovision so that I don't overload my tackiness tolerance!

Off to LA via BNE on Monday - and on Friday took the flight that will make me QF WP once the double SCs appear, and also requalified for Virgin SG. :D Does anyone know if there is a DJ double SCs promotion on? I got more SCs than I was expecting the past month - wasn't expecting SG until the July flights are finished....
Also, I don't think this deserves a new thread despite being too on topic for this thread, but I got not just one but TWO personal greetings on a sparsely populated QF 583 SYD-PER on Friday night. One was CSM, one was the FA in our area, both clutching the passenger manifesto which listed me as SG. The second time (CSM) they offered me extra wine with my meal - shame I don't drink wine! Ended up with another can of soft drink and a pack of soy snacks...

Finally, whoever came up with the Sticky Date pudding on offer in the SYD QP on Friday night should be knighted and then put in charge of everything QF do - you're doing it right! Yummm....

Why the hell can I buy a plastic garden rake for $3.50. But a new handle for my current rake is $8.98?!

I live in an apartment, we have a body corporate that worries about those sort of things, what's a rake anyway .

Thoughts are with you all.
Thanks!

Hope Miss M is going to be all good.

WOw a lot to deal with when just got back to Aust
I booked it before I left, so a bit to deal with jet lag, but her specialist suggested it at her appt in early April, so we've known for a while. Just had to schedule it.

Should you be sharing body piercing stories with us ?

Ps. Hope all is well
It's a very pedestrian piercing. The piercer told me that every 15yo girl in Brissie was getting one (I was not 15, back in the mid 90s); I felt much less daring after that comment! And I was so tired, my piercing actually didn't stop me from going in, Little Miss chose Dad over Mum. Guess it's his turn, I was the one to see her knocked out for both surgeries she's had.

Katie, all the best to your mini and hope it all pans out! My +1 goes in for another MRI in 2 weeks, not a very fun time!
Thanks - watching loved ones go through such things is not fun. :(

Hope everything is well.
Little Miss must be a beautifully well behaved girl as the majority of Little Misses need a general anaesthetic for that investigation
Good luck, it's hard being on the outside looking in !
I was reassured that her specialist did not want her to have GA if she couldn't stay still. She did very well, held her Dad's hand the whole time. I was sure she wouldn't be able to be still, but I think a late Fri appt worked in our favour - she was tired & almost fell asleep at one point!

From me too.

Boss xoxo
Thank you! :)

All the best to mini Katie.I empathasise.3 MRIs now and staying still with my inherited tremor really is difficult especially when continually told to keep still.
I think the cannula (sp?) was the worst part. She's got a bit of bruise in that spot on her arm.

Thanks - I'm glad she didn't need to have GA, though I know there are heaps of other kids her age who've had far worse to deal with.

She's 5.5yo - I think having the radio on, and that she only really needed to stay still for 30-150 seconds at a time helped. I had thought she'd have to be totally still for a full 20 mins.

Hope Little Miss is OK - she's so brave having to go through these at her age.
She is brave, and she milked her bravery! She got about 7 stickers from the radiologist and then we went to her favourite Thai place for dinner. She asked for Cold Rock for dessert while at dinner, and I gave my usual "we'll see". She reminded me how brave she'd been during her test. She's a cunning one! :) (And, yes, she got ice cream from Cold Rock for dessert)

Great that she avoided the radiation dose from a CT. Hope they find the answer and it is an easy "fix".

George Megalogenis in the Weekend Australian has pretty much summed up my concerns with the current political situation. We have a choice of 2 duds who "have taken the branch-stacking tactics their political generation was raised on and applied them to this parliament."

Another day, another series of blunders, backstabbing & settling of old political vendettas!

It's gone beyond a joke & I'm afraid that I've given up worrying about the absolute damage these so called "world-beaters" are inflicting on the country. I find myself attracted, no, more like addicted to reading the latest scandals, stuff ups, lies, spin, & all the other titillating stories that we are forced to endure.

There is no weekly gossip magazine or cheap trick reality show that can compete with the daily antics of the motley crew holding court in CBR.

Did anyone see the pics in the Sunday Telegraph reported to show Grant Hackett's Melbourne apartment after a drunken rampage?
Words fail me :(

This was also in the Courier Mail. It would seem he has an alcohol problem

What, no pork barreling?

According to the 'man' himself "it was all a bit of an unfortunate misunderstanding". What planet is he on? He's seriously got some anger management issues he needs to sort out which are clearly exacerbated by his fondness of alcohol.

Just wondering when Westpac will cut him loose from his contract. I imagine a statement containing the obligatory paragraph "we wish him well in his future endeavours" can't be too far away.

Speaking of governments. We visited both Old and New Parliament Houses today.

Good to see our tax dollars used on something so constructive that has failed to deliver anything useful....

Sitting here watching England v West Indies.....Thoroughly enjoying Michael Holding's commentary and expert analysis.

Oh, so I forgot to mention that I flew Qantas yesterday for HBA-MEL in J, expecting a bit of a "meh" experience, on the contrary I was actually really impressed, it made me realise that Virgin Australia have forgotten a lot of little things.

Even scored a BSI too. :D
