So you get on the Airtrain at the airport and the first thing you do after sitting is make a phone call.

I don't want to listen to your garbage. Obviously I expect too much common sense from "human beings" and I love whinging....

Back from a short stop in Dili (about 4 hours). That was an incredible eye-opener.

Another day another airport.

On Sunday I flew from Nuremberg to Berlin Tegel on Air Berlin, somehow I was able to secure seat 1A. Service on board was a cup of soft drink or juice with a packet of chips, this aircraft was economy only.

Today I spent the day walking around Berlin and I am now in the Star Alliance lounge ready for my flight up to Stockholm on SAS.

Tonight I will be spending the night in the plane hotel which is an old 747.

The flights on SAS are from the D terminal so that will require a bit of a walk, the lounge is actually land side in the main terminal so still need to go through security, thanks to Flashware for that piece of advise that I remembered.

If you remember, I'd like to know how long it will take for the AB flight to credit (assuming you've put it towards QFF)

Due to fleet positioning/delay issues the day prior, mrsdoc got F seating on a 744 (-OJM acc to the Qatnas source) on HKG-SYD last night. Was showing A330 / skyslopes and got changed on departures to A zone on the 744.

Needless to say, she had a great flight!

Previous nights A380 service got converted to 747 then cancelled.

3 EK flights in F over the past week. SYD - DXB. DXB - LHR. DXB - SYD.

All 3 were delayed, but ........ Reminds me of how much work QF has to do.

Hard product on A380 in F is so much better. A mojito at 39,000 feet makes me very happy.

Honestly.... Once EK have the A380 Trans-Tasman... QF is probably only going to get my DOM business.

Yes, so I believe. I think there was an issue for QF29 ex-MEL as well so there may well be 2 744s there (now one returned).

How did you get from LHR-DXB on the way back?

One could argue EK's 777 F and J product trans-tasman is better than the QF "J" product anyway. ;)

We had to fly private due to our last minute change of plans... We were in Venice, was supposed to be there for 2 nights but left after just 1.

I agree with the 777... However they are getting on a bit now so I will fly QF until the A380 is here.

The 29 ex MEL was an A332 that operated as QF128D same night. I think QF have an issue with two many 747s and not enough crews for a couple of days as there has been a 747 over nighting last two nights. I would love to talk to someone in ops that makes those calls, the permutations and combinations of solutions possible must make for an interesting job!

Agree, I'd love to spend a week in ops - and beyond that, it might be all a bit too stressful!

Back in Melbourne this week - apparently it was 2°C when we landed. A little cooler than Hong Kong's 32°C. I should have bought a scarf or something.

Well Katie next April..........
Yes do it again!

I like that idea (but don't tell Little Miss!). :)

All hail the mighty rodent & Disney's customer service. The photos have been restored & I can part with my money to buy them. :D

How hard is it to find a Hotel in BNE that you can land your helicopter at.

Dad is involved with a helicopter and they have to come down to BNE with it for a few days and none of the good hotels will allow you to land it at there premises.

Looks like he is staying out in the back blocks of BNE

Woohoo. So they lied when they said they weren't retrievable. Hehe.

Heli landing spots in bne cbd are rare. I can't think of any building with one except the two major hospitals just outside of the cbd.

Can anyone think of any building with one? Perhaps Google maps would help...

Yesterday flew SAS on a 737-600, free water tea coffee but soft drinks and other snacks available for purchase.

Today I am not flying and taking a train into Stockholm, free wifi.

I spent the night at Jumbo Stay a 747 done up as a hostel.

Anyone know what has happened to medhead? I must have missed all the fun again. He appears to have been given a holiday from AFF but not sure for how long....
