And I am still a jinx regardless where I go.

This time 5/7 flights delayed, one missed connection and luggage gone missing. ;( Oh, and thanks to the queues and slow processing at at TRS was not about to claim TRS refund.

One of these days....

Aahhh yes, but think of the SCs!! ;)

Was great to meet you the other day by the way

Got home over 3hrs ago. Empty house next door has some kind of alarm going off in it (maybe like a new fangled smoke detector when the battery is dead/dying). It is going off *continuously*. Have been making lots of noise, so it hasn't been too annoying ... yet. Am starting to dread going to bed.

Apart from shoving ear plugs in our ears, is there anything we can do?
Don't know the owners; there hasn't been anyone permanently living there in the time we've lived here (+1yr).

Turn off the electricity in the meter box, the backup battery will die eventually if it is a security alarm.

Ended up calling the police community line tonight. Alarm/loud beeping still going continuously 25hrs later ...
Police came out, no signs of house being broken into or signs for a security company. They checked the meter box, and electricity is already off. :( So whatever is going off is battery based and inside the house.
Tried calling former owners of our house to see if they know/remember surname of owners next door, so I can try to find them at their retirement location. :-|

This would be driving me bonkers by now.
You are very patient.

I can be. But little else I can do about it. Luckily, with winter and our house all shut up, it's mostly hard to hear. Thought we'd get bugged by it last night, but it was OK. And I didn't even have the beeping ringing in my ears all day today! :p

Mattress Run time? ;)

Stay away. No brand name, no CPU info (as markis10 noted). No idea if you can later upgrade it, no idea how it will perform.

You'd think that the fools would just put up the tech specs and be done with it. I mean, those that won't read it will not, and those that want to will find what they need.

Watching Ben May play for the Hurricanes V Chiefs in Wellington.

I had to employ Google and Wikipedia to verify that you didn't slip the keys or was referring to our resident AFF member of the same name. ;) :p

Of course, if said person on AFF was playing rugby union.... ah, maybe we won't try to visualise that. :p

Incidentally, still talking about the AFFer, a Google search has him as the second hit. The first hit is an English footballer, and the Hurricanes player is at position six. Our AFFer doesn't have his own Wikipedia entry, yet :p

Yeah you are right, but I thought it was nice to hear his name in commentary.
