Oh I hate people who don't understand that an airfare sale isn't like taking 30c off a pack of 12 sorbent toilet rolls

"I'll ring you tomorrow"
"There's no rush"

Edit:
Why don't people listen to me for goodness sake...fares gone.

Now I'll have to pay those scabs at DJ for 20kg of baggage & lose out on SCs and FFPs

My brother never listens to me when it comes to airline bookings. Being a typical Taurus he's a real creature of habit and he's yet to convinced of the benefit of JASA's to the US so instead he'll pay $4,000.00 return for PE then use points to upgrade to J.

I told him before he does any more bookings to call me first so I can help advise him of the best options. So what happens? He makes a booking to the US on Air New Zealand - I haven't found out the fare details as yet.

The piece de resistance though was his classic award redemption on AA LAX/JFK in F for the bargain price of 75,000 points!!!

My sister had 140,000 Velocity points she was asking me for advice how to use them. I mentioned to her the best use of points is J and F awards (or even W), since Y awards, due to YQ and what not, are hardly worth it these days.

She decided to redeem them for retail gift cards.

For those of you playing at home, that's 3 more shots of Scotch from the goblet of depression...now! :)

Unbelievable

Can't help but feel a little selfish in this regard. The more people there are like your brother throwing points around like that, the more money QFF makes and the less likely they are to devalue them...

I'm in a slightly better mood, found a decent fare on QF PER-MEL-xSYD-OOL-xSYD-PER ($520). Lots of sectors ;) and I get to tick off QF400 - which I have always wanted to do.
I know I have a problem when I swore I would not do any more travelling this year for myself in order to save...then I go hand over the $600-odd and 9900pts to VA for return A330 J PER-MEL-PER!

However on the flip side this means that in 18 hours I've booked two trips when I swore I would book none. I have an addiction :(

Not concerned about QF going broke they will send me broke first!! But there is always a silver lining - nets me 70SC and 28% requal for PS :)

OK LAX-NYC in First.....how should we do it on AA??

ooh flagship! lucky you :D

Arriving 0814, Dep 1100Z.

For once Air New Zealand is not the only airline that has its metal going all the way around the world!

Sorry, info was 12 hours out, it's 2240 departure, QF6058, via BKK arriving into SYD 0715 .

Should be a few nervous bankers watching proceedings in the High Court today!

If I was you, I would have got her to family pool them, and paid her cash* to the face value of the gift cards... You would almost certainly be ahead.

* Actually if she wanted gift cards, buy her retails gift cards with 5% disc

Just signed up for what must be my 6th or 7th "free 28 day trial" digital pass for The Australian.......gotta, love these free 28 day passes:lol:

Wonder how long before they pull the plug?

+ another 28 day free trial :D

I know which side I think should win, but the reality is that it could go either way.

Going to be expensive for the banks if they lose though.

"Would have"... ah well, horse has bolted, can't do squat.

In any case, I'm not fussed how she spends her points. She's not into travel like me, and probably cares much, much less about premium class travel than even JohnK, so no point leading a horse to water if it won't drink.
