Wonder when this occurred previously, both a QF and a DJ 738 took their first flights on the same day this week at Renton according to the QF/ VA source.

13th September 2012 - VH-XZB First Flight.

Boeing 737-838 VH-XZB made its first flight from Renton - Boeing Field today as BOE059.

13th September 2012 - VH-YIT First Flight.

Boeing 737-8FE VH-YIT made its first flight from Renton - Boeing Field today as BOE845.

Had my first return OOL-SYD this weekend. Most things went quite smoothly and at least it is another option to consider for my SYD-BNE weekly commute.

One thing I did not factor in to the equation though was the encounters with ferrals getting to/from OOL.

While flying this past weekend I noticed all the ground staff had Qantas caps, red or black, with the logo and Q400 on the side. Is there an online store these can be bought at? I’ve tried googling but am clearly using the wrong keywords today :(

You could try here: Qantas careers - Home Must be partial to Orange though!

Haha, not looking for a job, as doubt I'd pass the checks.

Ahh I recall them, but I'm much more interested in a cap.

I thought they might have them at the Founders Museum, but they don't have an online store so would have to go in person to see. Maybe I'll do that in November.

Thanks for the help though.

Caught up with munitalP last night as he was in Brisbane and had a few drinks in the Hilton Brisbane bar and Executive Lounge before heading out for Korean BBQ dinner.

As I had my drinks at the Hilton, I quickly realised that my resilience to alcohol has severely waned. After 3 glasses of Cloudy Bay Sauv Blanc, I was almost on the ropes. Had to cut it there and have some food before the Korean BBQ where I thankfully managed to get through a light Korean beer (and the BBQ meat helped a lot too).

God I'm getting old.

No, I do not intend on training myself to consume lots of alcohol again. ;)

When propaganda is no longer effective it instills fear, uncertainty and doubt into those who started the propaganda.

Just had a global communication from our university's HR. The uni had to deal with a grievance recently that involved a student complaint, which went on to an Ombudsman.

The student had managed to exercise a legal power that forced the uni to hand over emails relating to the grievance and a number of staff were cited by the Ombudsman for the content in those communications.

Just goes to show that it is definitely not acceptable to be messing around with the company email - it can and will be used against you if necessary!

I have an exam tomorrow so I am procrastinating again... Differential Equations don't engage me the way I'd hope....

Ordinary or Partial?

The first types are pretty easy. The latter ones.... you're on your own!

Perhaps one can explain to me the recently proven (apparently) abc conjecture. That does my head in :p

I'm an engineer - I know enough mathematics to get me by. Number theory does my head in. (Though as someone who did IT, I do know the basics in discrete maths).

DEs were easy at Uni. It was modern algebra that did my head in.
Why not just type out "Differential Equations were easy at Uni"?

Typing out an extra few characters hurt? Most have no idea with the initialisation used....
