Have you lads stopped talking about the cricket yet???

Surely we could talk about other O/T topics. Like frocks. And shoes. And colds in the middle of a heatwave. Whinge whinge whinge.

How about someone's rather telling Facebook update related to said illness?!! :o

Engineer here - I think in pictures! I think my mind may have been scarred!!! :o :(

Oh yeah, and how do females get "man flu"?

Oh the entire set was scary. But seeing they seemed about 17 or so thought it safer to only take a photo of what I did.

The girl was a maid perhaps. They guy was a chimney sweep or something similar. But the shoes really made it. Lol.

Does anyone notice with AFF recently that something on the page "refreshes"?

I use Firefox with the Tabs Mix Plus add-on, which is configured to display the titles of tabs which have been freshly loaded / reloaded without having been yet viewed in a different font style. This lets me know which tabs I've loaded but haven't yet read, which is very cool when I go to my subscriptions and load all my unread topics into multiple tabs.

However, I've noticed recently that when I've finished reading something in a tab and move onto a new one, some time later, the font of the name of the tab which I've read previously reverts to the one where it hasn't been read yet. I've also noticed that the activity indicator briefly appears, indicating that something on the page is loading / the page is reloading. It's only very brief, however, and doesn't actually reload the entire page (viz. if I'm working on a post on a page, it won't disappear).

This has only seemed to have happened recently. It doesn't actually do anything wrong, but I thought that was rather interesting.

Anyone have any ideas?

Doesn't seem to be happening here. I presume based on your signature you're on a paid subscription so it can't be an ad that's doing it... that's me out of ideas!

Just had a phone screening interview for a job which pays even higher from the one I was made redundant from (and the call came minutes after I sent the résumé in, which I think is a good sign). Anyway, one of the questions was about my willingness to travel around the country. I just laughed and told her that I was on first name terms with many MEL Lounge staff.

Anyway, fingers crossed.

Great news. One door closes...

Awesome news.

Did they ask your goals and did you say to fly on every QFF plane in the fleet.

Just hit 42° on the verandah at home....midway between Gold Coast and Brisbane

34 in my backyard (the Brisbane weather comes from a station at the end of my street in Kangaroo Point).

Whilst inside with air conditioning which is quite glacial in temperature, weather.com.au reports that it's about 34 degC outside, though RH is not even 50%.

We were pre-warned by the properties & facilities staff today that the air conditioning systems have an increased propensity to fail, and setpoint temperatures may rise from normally 23 degC to 28 degC if the weather became significantly hotter (i.e. at least 35 degC).

Not being outside I can't judge the heat properly, but it seems we're not getting the close-to-40 degC that was predicted. That predicted rain / thunderstorm, however, would be nice.

40 last Thursday in Melbourne. 16 now, but with the wind it feels like 10. Brrrr.

Ouch. With your humidity, it must be unbearable. One of the saving graces of living in Melbourne is that we usually have dry heat, which means that my evaporative cooling system keeps us comfortable without the electricity bills going through the roof.

Given that 34 degrees is taken from Kangaroo Point and Archerfield is 36, I suspect your probably closer to 36.

OK Katie I have just spent 10 hours and walked 20kms helping mrsdrron shop here in Dallas. She said it was all worthwhile as she saved over a $1000 so look at it as though I worked for $100 an hour.
