I believe that to get from Tom Price to Karratha one had to travel on a bus that, yes really, had a QF flight number.

As did some trains in Europe if memory serves..

Anyone know who won the NRL grand final? The news in Thailand is one of the teams forfeited. I wish I had some money on the winner earlier in year. These type of results only come around once in a decade....
Score 40 - nil  and the Melbourne people are not happy :!:

Would that also include a moderator on this forum who also follows the Hawks and travelled up to Sydney for the game and could be on his way home from Melbourne airport right now?

Could be.

Short version. There is a lot of ill feeling at the moment (all week) with the NRL threatening to Sue the Melbourne Storm over their coach's outburst the other week and the Melbourne Captain sidelined for what many believe has been accepted all year.

Score was 8 - 0 at half time and 40 - 0 at full time. I didn't see the match and have not watched any news other than get the score so can't comment on what the game was really like.

I don't know what has been happening all year but as far as I am concerned Cameron Smith deserved to get a harsher penalty than the one that was given. It was very clear and there is no way anyone can condone someone holding onto, or pulling, someone's chin in one direction while the player is falling, or tackled, in an opposite direction. Melbourne has made an art form of this tackle and I would like to see them try and win a few games without using these tactics.

There is no room in rugby league for the grapple tackle. I am sorry if it sounds so simple in my mind....

Not quite. The easiest way I know is to click on the thread while viewing new posts and go to the last post without viewing any posts and the back space or even click on new posts again. Thread disappears from view and just like ignore.

Or don't click on the thread at all until the thread fades away. New posts are only active for 10 days....

I agree.

And it has been pretty poor form by the Storm coach and CEO. That Melbourne were absolutely thrashed after the debacle of the past week shows that it clearly affected their preparation and performance.

The difference between the two sides all year was not a 40 point margin.

Melbourne got what they deserved.

'Twas a lot closer than the score line indicates - Score was 8-zip 'til 47th minute.

4 tries (22 points) were scored in the last 10 minutes.

The problem is that all clubs do it; NSW media don't highlight that - many other such tackles when made by other clubs have been ignored - a particular tackle made against a Manly player by a Dragons play was highlighted as being worse than Cam Smiths but was ignored.

Shano,

Whilst I agree in principle my problem is the same as serfty's in that if something is acceptable during the season it surely must be acceptable during the finals. ie the finals is not the right time to toughen up on some rule interpretations.

The timing of the threatened legal actions were an unnecessary distraction for everyone and should have been put on hold until today, if for no other reason to protect the integrity of the game.

Traditionally in Qantas FF circles, it is bad to mention "the bus" due to some incidents a few years ago where Qantas cracked down on people travelling between remote WA mining towns on a Qantas codeshare bus. Bus will normally be changed to B*S or similar.

NM owns a bus of sorts - (as in his avatar), to cart around his family.

Maybe that explains it, maybe it doesn't. Others will most certainly add to the tale!
Sort of close; as posted there were QF flight numbers on the afore mentioned codeshared bus route.

Tickets could be booked for about $20 and points (1000)/SC's (20) would be credited based on the booking - there were no checks as to if the person had actually travelled.

One guy found this to be a really cheap way of attaining WP!

Also the bus trip was supposed to only be sold with the connecting flight.

...not to mention a way to cause the powers that be at QFF to take a action.

Yes, I have heard a similar story from the person themselves - I met them when we were at the Sheraton Towers in NYC a number of years ago. My recollection is that they were a member here (not sure if they still are current).

Yep, Kawoh is still registered here; also a Moderator of the *A forum on FT.

That is not fair under the circumstances. You need to take into consideration the time of the night, the number of alcoholic drinks consumed that night, and previous nights, and the bugs in the software translating Thai to English. :p
Such circumstances can generate great things!

Methinks UNSEFUL will prove a very useful adjective - perfect for this thread!
