I thought that the funniest thing about the whole "POC" hysteria was that someone, without even knowing what POC means, had already turned it into a verb: someone talked about whether they'd been "POCked" or not.

I could offer the unseful information that I have not been POCked.

To be fair John you are not impacted by the amex promo if you are out of the country - people spending here now are impacted hence for them it is of relevance.

It would be like a debate around DJ giving away 2for 1 flights - I dont need or want DJ flights so would not care about the promo - I would also not belittle people who did care about it.

He is only out of the country for a short while and the promo runs for four months. The vast majority of the period he is impacted by the promotion.

I think that there's a certain amount of hysteria in the Amex thread that you can just drop anything in there and people will jump on it.

Something to do with the impestuosity of youth ....

You could completely make something like "I just called Amex and spoke to a Customer Service Rep there - they told me that because of the ongoing abuse, they've decided to invoke the T&Cs for Membership Rewards and cease the MYREWARD promotion from today - you'll get points for what you've spent, but it will all be over from the end of today. Everyone will get emails or letters in the post next week."

And then you would see the post count go up! (Note, I'm not advocating doing this - there's enough misinformation in that thread - it doesn't need anyone making it worse!).

Very tempting, but my moderatorship prevents me from performing such a darstedly deed...but the thought certainly crossed my mind fleetingly

I got the MYBONUS card, and reading the thread that seems to be the one I will have to live with

I went to the airport today to watch the A380 land in Brisbane, well someone slept in and we missed the landing but we did see it taxi around Brisbane airport before it took off again.

Watching all the planes take off reminded me that I got to wait 6 weeks before I get to fly somewhere again, I need to fly somewhere sooner, any suggestions for a quick get away. Sydney in the morning and return in the evening after a afternoon at the Qantas Club.
