<snip>

Was leaving Selfridges the other night, and there was a Rolls Royce w/driver waiting outside for Master (or Madam) to return with their Christmas presents. Wish life was that simple!

Speaking of which, I hope Boss Reggie is enjoying the season's festivities.

I feel suburban'ised.... I've not been into the 'city' in quite some time now! I used to be in there every day of the week, even weekends....

Living near London Bridge kinda means I have to be around the "city", although under the true definition of "City of London" - I don't tend to go into there more than a few times per week.

Yeh. I consider the "city" more so to just be anything in Zone 1....

Indeed. All is well in London Town. Any suggestions on where I can get pressies wrapped? Can't seem to find any charity wrapping places anywhere, and as I've already bought my stuff I can't really go into John Lewis et.al and get them gift wrapped there :D

The modern thing these days is just to buy a nice gift bag (various sizes available) - with a bow / ribbon preferably - then just present them in that. No need for wrapping paper.

I got my KK present for tomorrow wrapped by the charity service in Myers Brisbane City. This year the Salvos are doing the wrapping...and two poor darlings are facing a rap of a wrap session with the line when I left the counter going around most of the passageways in home and kitchen!

This year for a first they also have another charity wrapping service outside of Myers (but still in the Myer Centre); this one was run for the Leukaemia Foundation.

Just got a job offer. Not the one I really want, but I'll take it. The real problem with it is that it comes with a (generous) car allowance, but not a car. I don't known whether to buy a cough car, or get a novated lease, knowing that the job won't last the term (because I will take a better job). Any suggestions?

Congrats on the job offer.

I had a company cars for years and it was a big shock having to pay for petrol and other expenses.

I hope no probs with your overseas trip taking the leave.

You have got to play the game. If you don't play the game then you are not really in the game are you?

I have lost my seat again. That is now 2 times in last 3 flights.

I have gone from 23B to 34B. Someone obviously thinks they are doing me a favour. Would be nice to get an explanation on this one. Perhaps bassinet but on a SYD-MEL flight?

An interesting comment on the Occupy movement-

Our work office has words that cover this markis10.
We would be underwhelmed that the parcel had taken a long cut to arrive jtl (just too late). Jtl occurs when jit fails.

And i always reckon my luggage should qualify me for the miles it flies unaccompanied by myself.

I want your life. Mrs GPH burns this stuff like water.
DRINKS it like water. Fish pee in water, so it's yucky. Besides wasn't it replaced with another 2 dozen bottles today?

Anyway hope you guys still in the air get to your desired destination (home, hopefully) and have a good Christmas.

I've only been here a short time and this is a very informative and (usually) cordial forum.

Cheers.

And lounges and travel are not always the fun they are supposed to be.

I was extremely sick yesterday and still cannot believe I managed to take hire car back to airport and make my flight back to SYD.

I was lucky Hilton on the Park allowed me to stay in room until 2:30pm. I am certain the food in the Executive Lounge the night before was the cause. It was either the prawn rolls or the vegetarian falafel balls. Won't be eating either for a long long time.

Time to relax today as I have 2 days of flying coming up from tomorrow.

I am still feeling very sick! :(

I hope I can fly out in ~12 hours.

Merry Christmas all....

Oh dear, not good. After travelling with a FIL suffering food poisoning effects, if at all possible, I'd delay travel. :( Hope you feel better in time!!

What a frantic Christmas Eve!

Almost all pressies wrapped (well, everything I'm responsible for is wrapped!), heap of lunch prep is done (by Mr Katie), and Little Miss is asleep. Am betting that she will be up by 6am, and I won't need to set an alarm for Mr Katie to get the turkey in the oven at 7am ...
