Helicopter just went over the house, it's 12:20am. Only one place it could be going to. :(
Hope whoever's inside get the special attention they need up the road.

Oh dear, not good. After travelling with a FIL suffering food poisoning effects, if at all possible, I'd delay travel. :( Hope you feel better in time!!
I hope so too.

I cannot delay travel as that would be the end of my holiday. :(

There are two around, Rescue 500 out of RPC and Rescue 511 out of RBH heading back to the coast, living near the Mater I am amazed how busy the pad is at times.

I'm not surprised the roads in Adelaide tonight were absolute bedlam. At least 2 cars that were erratic enough for me to think drink driving. Plus randoms wandering on the road.

We get to London later in February Flashware so I will book a week of lovely weather seeing we don't do miserable. We are testing the travel product from Los Angeles to London on BA.
Stay cool and think of us in Perth with a 39 degree heat wave that is running for a week.

It's actually quite warm currently, I went out without a sweater tonight! Look forward to catching up in Feb.

Know that sinking feeling. Being opposite Queens Gardens in TSV. They used to land there for TGH. Inc. Black Hawk disaster night.

On a lighter note, Santa survived the night and is up cooking the roast and bringing me capaccino's on demand.

Merry Christmas to all on AFF and your families.

I hope all your wishes come true....

It's now 4am in Abu Dhabi, and finally I'm settled into bed. Today was one of those travel days where things just didn't run to plan. Some of the things that didn't go to plan:
- Lounge attendant spilling half a glass of champagne over my two reading books.
- Flight departing Heathrow about 1.25 hrs late, arriving into Abu Dhabi about 1.5 hours late. Thick fog at airport, so Cat 3B landing, then assisted trip to the terminal.
- My UK bank looks to have blocked my ATM card. (Luckily I have another card that worked!).
- Jumped into a taxi and had a fun ride through the very thick fog to hotel. Not really an experience I want again.
- Cabbie "conveniently" didn't have the correct change for my 100 note, I accepted what he claimed to have had ... (only 10 difference, so no real loss). The fixed fare from the airport (I chose to decline that offer) would have been an additional 15 above that amount anyway.

But the hotel loves me. So that makes up for most of the hassle.

Yeah, it isn't too bad weather wise at the moment in London. Was a bit chilly early this morning (24th btw) - but I probably didn't need my coat to walk to the station.

Off to Thailand for a couple of weeks of golf. Stay safe everyone and I shall pop in every now and then to say hello.

Sounds like my luck has rubbed off on you too much! ;)

One of the benefits of having a truckload of kids (seven) is that they pool their money and buy my wife and I a present from them all. Two years ago it was Tommy. <--------

Today it was a dinner at Vue de Monde, almost certainly the best restaurant in Melbourne, including $100 for drinks, and a night at the five star Intercontinental, a lift ride from the restaurant. I haven't been able to justify a dinner there up to now. Good kids.

Sounds wonderful. A friend of mine went there for her b'day last month, and she is still smiling at the memory.

It was good to see that all the sensible drivers stayed home today, leaving plenty of room for the idiots! Hmmm.
I agree that everyone I saw on the road today was driving sensibly. Jessica and I (us) had about a 30km overlap of journey today though at different times and directions.
