Wind here is starting to get a bit crazy. Rain is slapping the house in sheets in every direction.

Not a nuts cyclone by any measure, but definitely a notch up on the usual windy.

As I am about 1 km from anat0l, I concur with his assessment. It has picked up in the past 30 mins, in line with the severe weather warning my wife got via SMS some hours ago.

Skeeping might be harder tonight

I feel like I am the only one supporting Azarenka in the Aus. Open final tonight. Hmmmm.

Well, that may be a slight exaggeration, but still. I reckon she's pretty cool.

As someone who has just returned from the tennis (thanks kevrosmith) I can assure you that there were a couple of other Azarenka supporters, but not many. Li Na was the sentimental favourite at the match.

I reckon Ch7 turns down the volume on Azarenka's grunting, it was very loud at the arena.

The best was right towards the end where she forgot to grunt. Stretched to return the serve and no grunt at all. I have very negative feelings towards her. I also have no idea how Redfoo could bed her with all the grunting.

Either he wears earplugs or has industrial deafness.

Early in the match some wit in the crown (not me :( ) did a beautiful impersonation of an umpire's call "Miss Azarenko please be quiet!". It got a great laugh.

Let us think about why your average is less than the overall average. Hmm. Perhaps the flight times you take are more busier than other times along with evening flights more likely to be delayed due to flow on effects.
That could be one reason but does not explain why I have delays on morning flights (just ask Bundy Bear who is 2 from 2 and has vowed never to fly on my flights again), lunchtime flights and afternoon flights and flights in SE Asia.

Things are not always as clear cut as they seem. Trust me....

The first two JQ flights into MCY this morning have been cancelled.
The winds are truly howling.

The rain was going most of the night here and the wind with it. Both have dropped a bit but the higher level wind is still pumping (the taller gum trees are swaying like a drunken sailor)

I'd expect we'll get your winds soon drron.

Lots of rain bayside. Wind not as bad as I thought it might be. In fact didn't really notice it

Why all the cancellations to OOL flights?

Looked at website and it suggests anyone travelling to OOL to think about deferring travel. It would be interesting to see what happens with my SYD-OOL flight on 28 January as I am going back to work.
Keep your eye on things - VA have extended thier travel alert trough to tomorrow: (Travel Alerts | Virgin Australia)
Guests with travel arrangements to Queensland cities from 25 January until Monday 28 January (inclusive) are able to change bookings without penalty to another travel date prior to Monday 4 February* or cancel their flight and receive a travel credit for the value of their flight.

I made a slight mistake with dates for my next trip in a few weeks time and was thinking about deferring for a week but I have already booked most flights and accommodation. Started looking last night at changing flights and gave up when the number got too high

AUD50 - Change VS award booking SYD-HKG
~SGD155 - Change ex-SIN departure to a week later
AUD0 - Change UL business class flight HKG-BKK
~AUD200 - additional SYD-BNE return
AUD75 - Change SYD-BNE one-way to May
~AUD20 - Accommodation should be OK as it is fully refundable and availability and rates look the same but may lose some discounts

I guess that is expected when most bookings are made in advance and involve multiple carriers....

Have you ever wondered about the lowest bidder on price winning a contract?
That would be the only explanation for our corporate watchdogs site (ASIC) being so woeful on business name renewals. Last week the 1300 call site wait was well over 30 minutes and one time they could not even put anyone into the long queue.
Their ASIC site is down at the moment......
I remember being told that the reason for the Los Angeles power and water site being so ordinary was because the lowest bidder won the contract.
now of course that would not be happening with any airline booking systems would it??

Don't worry about airline booking systems. Try aircraft parts manufacturers.

Last week I lamented that my garden was looking poorly because it was so dry and hot - now it is water-logged !!!!!
