Rain has flooded my back yard, so I got drenched setting up a hose to drain it out to the street.

My flooding is nothing like that in Ipswich and parts of Brisbane. My brother, near Norman Creek, will probably be cut off

Iirc they used to have such a guarantee....can't remember the details though.
Really? Any chance I can have a refund on accommodation costs over the past ~5 years? I have been on a long holiday and every day has been less than acceptable! ;)

Makes you wonder why some don't cut their losses ;)

Being on top of the hill has its advantages. :)

Wind is picking up in bursts. I think I saw Dorothy and Todo out there.

Brisbane Airport ‏@BrisbaneAirport Today’s weather may cause slower operations at, and diversions to, Brisbane Airport. Expect delays. Contact your airline to check.

Instead of JohnK providing us a TR of budget hotels in Asia, I think he should start a excel workbook with all his flights, delays, lengths of delays, cause of delays... Would be fascinating to analyse all the data.

might not be as fascinating as you might think ... "Golden triangle" + peak times ... Says it all really.:p

So glad we moved out of our old house in 20hrs in Jan 2011. It's flooded again; looking worse than 2011 in areas near Enoggera Creek/Breakfast Creek.

Just spent 12 mins on the phone with the house insurance company; think I'll ring back when they've had a chance to up their call centre staffing levels. Fourth time round feels like an old hand :-|

What a day here in South East Queensland.. I've travelled to BNE airport twice & GC Airport once today to 'repatriate" some clients with disrupted flights.
Was a shocker driving in these inclement weather conditions.. Driving rain & Cyclonic winds all over..
Why don't drivers ever utilise their headlights as a safety measure..
The worst was driving over the Gateway Bridge with a strong gust of wind pushing my vehicle around.. & it is two tonnes.
I have never experienced this type of wind strength before in Queensland. It is fierce!
Returned home to GC via Nudgee Road, & there was a huge tree across the road & then the worst case scenario was when my windscreen wiper broke on the M1, somehow resolved itself though.
I have managed to come home safely, only to find many trees down on my property & found my dogs hiding under the bed.
I went straight for the fridge for some awaiting well deserved amber treats :o
Hope tomorrow is better for all.. Guess there are more persons in worse situations & so well wishes..

It only needs someone to sneeze and Norman Creek will flood ...

The wind seems to have finally died down and the rain has stopped - or are we in the eye??
Rain seems to be reducing for sure, but the wind seems to have a picked up a bit in my area.

Animals all moved inside now, so our place it is a bit like NM's Ark ... only 38 days and 38 nights to go ...

The wind is still powerful up here....I think you have more to come!

Going strong in BNE as well. It doesn't seem as bad as Mooloolaba the last two nights, but I thinkthat was both proximity to the beach and the seals on the windows, etc.
