85 kph crosswinds at NPL...our flights cancelled...no connection for EK413 AKL-SYD...another night with the Mil...Whoopee

I'll take a might with the MIL over the FIL almost anytime. Unless she doesn't have her bloody glasses with her again!!!

Poor Mr Katie has too many MILs, but there's two he'd be OK being stuck with for an extra night. :p

Have you lot seen the Hitler YouTube that is adapted to many current events? This one is just funny and think it will appeal across the political spectrum. At least I hope it doesn't offend anyone but just look at it as satire.

Went to see Tim Berners-Lee speak at Town Hall in Sydney this evening, followed by a panel discussion.

Thoroughly enjoyable!

Aaahh the infamous Downfall parody. Kind of inevitable since Pyne brought it up (i.e. likening the government to Downfall, which describes the last days of Hitler and the Third Reich), then the deal was sealed when Dreyfus hypocritically went livid over it.

Maybe the Coalition should pick it up for their election advertising campaign, even if just on the social media side? I mean, they'll have to pay the German film company for the rights to the film, but apart from that.......

There have been a few. There was also one for that website that crashed, that promised to rival the USA's black friday sale just before Christmas. The guy who did that was posting on whirlpool forums.

Christopher Pyne is my local member. Might just send him the link.

I believe this was indeed done by both sides of politics at the last Victorian (?) State election.

Explains why the greens did well, perhaps they got a lot more Jewish votes after antics like that!

I don't really understand the intricacies of American football, but have (in a very token way) followed Baltimore (my dad lived there a while and I visited him) since they were the Baltimore Colts back in the 1970s. They lost their franchise at some time (it moved to and became the Indianapolis Colts), but eventually regained one as the Ravens (Edgar Allan Poe anyone?)

The only thing I learnt from going to a game is that it takes aaaaggggggeeeees. And it seems to be more about the entertainment and other phafing around than the actual sport.

I played it for a little while at Uni in the UK (20 years ago) - my knee still hurts...

Now working in Bundaberg.Amazing the amount of water that must have been here last week.

Local ABC radio has picked up the story of a blogger in the UK sharing her experience of a SIDS death last weekend, as someone who many years ago experienced that myself (not my child but in the family) the tweets have been amazing to read from @edspire, cannot believe she has copped criticism for airing what she is going through online when in reality technology has given her a new means of support in such difficult times!

Despite having a 4 year old going on 40, I have no idea what to do should I have ever been in a position where you need to communicate to a toddler the passing of a sibling??

My favourite is when he/she asks everyone who is going to quit to leave the room, leaving just the four or five of them.

My favourite is going on about Thomson and [the other one] (memory lapse) not leaving the room.

That never gets old. I saw one that was a parody of my industry, sooo funny.

I would risk the cross winds to get away from the MIL

Hell, I'd risk crosswind, an ice storm, and a two-engine-out MTOW take off to get away from the MIL. :D

+1 on our industry as well. Rollicking good clip.

I feel sorry for all you that want to get away from your MiL's. I've got two and have quite the opposite feeling. They come in useful.

Yay for Lindsay W. Just remember you males, mostly likely one day your wives will become one!

My MIL was a wonderful woman though not only because she always told mrsdrron to look after me well.
And we both think our daughter in law is great.
