Shamelessly lifted from a competing FF web page:

Wouldn't want to be on any of those flights turning around - seems alternates of ADL, SYD & CBR can't be used

Some close to 60 hours of travel later, I'm now settled into my new home town. Location updated!

There is no airport with regular scheduled passenger flights. Nearest airport is merely 40 minutes away by train.

Ahh beautiful part of the world! Enjoy the experience.

So that's still closer than LHR is to me

Still thick fog around Melbourne so not surprising that flights are being affected. Predicting a sunny 20 though when it all burns off.

Fairly typical day in DRW yesterday.
Although apparently I did venture down the wrong end of town.

Good luck with your new job.

I take it you won't be commuting back regularly? ;)

Huge swells on GC and later today on Sunshine Coast - 2.5 to 3m swells. The size I loved as a lifesaver on a rescue board

We live about 300 metres from the beach. You can really hear the waves crashing onto the beach at the moment.

Pic shows scene at 6.59 (assume EST) so 6.29 in ADL. By the time a/c arrived SYD/CBR no curfews. Maybe could have even held around ADL waiting for opening.

The pic shows a screenshot from the previous night VA694 normally arrives into MEL at 1130PM. If it was live there would have been a lot more traffic at 0630.
