Umm, I think this is a scam but I've now got a second email inviting me to be in Marquis who's who in the world. I ignored the first but finally googled them, expecting a heap of scam hits. However it turns out there actually is a Marquis who's who. Apparently, they got my name via a private nomination process.

Any experiences with this mob (apparently part of News Corp)? I'm still thinking scam. I am but a minor functionaire.

I'm calling scam. I got a similar invitation some time ago (years), and I got nothing on me. I've seen defences for them but I think they are shills.

Maybe I'm being too prejudiced and judgemental.....

Easiest way in the world to cook white rice:

1 cup of rice
2 cups of water
microwave safe bowl, covered
nuke for 15 minutes
stand for 10 minutes (or sit, but don't touch the rice).
Done. Works brilliantly.

Brown rice same, but make it around 25 minutes. If you're doing 2 cups, you need to add time that'll depend on your microwave power:)

Stupid question but how big is your cup, (mls) and how powerful is the microwave.

Yeah that's what I reckon. The company is in wikipedia so that is probably real. But that doesn't rule out phishing. Wiki also lists who's who scams.

I'm certainly involved in my professional but not that people need to "find" me on the world stage.

At least we can both say we were invited to who's who, but turned them down.

That's how I do it! Perfect every time. It's generally a ratio of 2:1 on the water:rice. If more than 1 cup of rice will generally increase the cooking time by a few minutes too. YMMV:!:

umm 1 cup = 1 cup (250mL). I'm an engineer. I always talk in standard sizes ;)

I think I have a 1000 Watt Microwave. I actually use one of the microwave-safe rice cookers, but it works just as well with a casserole dish with lid too (doesn't have to be air tight; in fact some steam escaping is good, else the water boils and melts any cling-film you may use).

Have to thank Mum for that one :)

Among the monthly costs requested are $24,000 for bodyguards, $29,000 for staff including nannies, a butler and Mrs Dotcom's personal assistant, $5000 for landline phone costs, $8500 for gas and power, and $6500 for tutoring the couple's four-year-old child.

$5000 for landline phone costs? Surely someone that tech savvy would be using some sort of VoIP solution and not be racking up such high bills?
