The view from my "office"

It’s a pleasure. It was hard choosing just 10 photos. There will be more when I get home and write my trip report
It’s a truly stunning one. Late last century I tortured SYD+1 with an unintentional Cathedrals and ruined Monastery tour of the UK (including Evensong in most Cathedrals and Minsters) to the point that a Linda Blair moment was imminent but we returned to London in the nick of time. But Lincoln was a highlight.

It was only last year I got to Durham to collect the whole set.

A day with a visit to Gagron Fort then a road trip to Bhopal

The stained glass was exceptional

I was hoping to do a couple more this trip but just been to the doctor again and he said rest ☹️

Ludicrous security queue at HBA this morning

PS of the six new check-in kiosks for Jetstar and Qantas, two are working.

Fortunately, there is no bag drop for Qantas or Jetstar so at least we can still use a human if need be.

Is it possible that the hold up isn't actually security, but rather, the queue waiting to access Australia's favourite airport lounge?

No doubt!

Add a sports team and is the usual home away from home ( if your home is Delhi)

And the sumptuous buffet

And for those following the “tongs or no tongs hygiene” discussion (obviously mainlanders did this 😡)

Sweeping views of the tarmac cattle runs and stairs for boarding 😊

Yikes! The airport seems to be chockers today (either that or HBA needs to hire more security). This almost reminds me of the hour+ security queue I faced at Christchurch airport back in December. Pity there's no priority queue for QF frequent flyers as is the case in many major ports in Australia!

Both security lanes open and working pretty efficiently when I could see it near the front of the queue and going through it. Don’t know the reason - maybe there was only one lane open initially or some breakdown earlier, but in any case I think I’ll blame the introduction of the Qantas check-in kiosks 😊.

That view of the Hobart tarmac is interesting. Exactly the same sort of fencing I saw on my visits to the Maitland Abbatoir in the 70s and 80s.
Was that before or after the cattle went off to slaughter? 🤔🤣

Before and after. I went as the stud beef section council member of the Maitland Show Society and we had a hoof and hook section. So always there at the hoof judging and as they were sent into the abattoir and back for the hook judging.
The first year I went I was assigned the job of directing the cattle into the abattoir. There was of course no such job. I was set up and immediately charged by the Angus cattle that hadn't seen a human for a year. I didn't think I could jump so fast and high that day. All the farmers thought it was hilarious.

That’s exactly why we call them the “cattle runs”.

The major difference though is the cattle in Maitland were put out of their misery once they'd been through the run ;)

Sitting in my local library as our air conditioning unit is leaking in the ceiling void and coming through the ceiling again - just 6 months after the builder “fixed” it. Thankfully it’s not my townhouse…
