The view from my "office"

The view from our Tel Aviv office. Interesting border crossing from Jordan to Palestine to Israel... our Uber from Amman stopped half way and said he wasn't licensed to drop us there... oops! Guy was nice though, ordered us a yellow taxi and waited till it arrived. Worked out cheaper overall too, so ha, win! 4.5 hours door to door, not bad, quicker than flying the 20 minute flight once you add on transport etc.

Not a car park.. but a highway.

The joys of the King Hussein Bridge border crossing, organised chaos!

@Matt_01 we were there in March, we were meant to drive highway 5 from Napier to Rotorua but it was closed. They said it would not be opened for 6 months. Is it now opened? We had to change plans, fly to Auckland, hire a car and drive south.
Thé town of Napier was really suffering with very few tourists. Such awful devastation in the area.

That's a nifty inflatable 'shed' they use. I guess common in motorsport going from place to splace?

It used to be the norm, but the other 2 teams have much bigger units, it takes the Hyundai team 1 week each to build and then remove theirs, MSport/Ford runs very much on a shoestring compared to Toyota and Hyundai.

Toyota service park yesterday and 6:15 driving to the first special stage on the bus, ipad photo doesn’t do it justice,F0EFDF41-2595-4CA3-B049-E56B9D9FABB6.jpeg3EF39EF6-4D69-4A9E-B2C7-E1348D885602.jpeg376593F4-906D-4939-8C3F-26AD1D59D7D2.jpeg1A1CA467-EC50-4C78-8EAE-5C4614929945.jpeg

It is open now. The lady at the winery informed us it had only been opened for evening/ night usage a couple of weeks ago. About a third to half the distance between Napier and Taupō it is slow going and the speed limit is reduced to 30km at various points along the drive depending on the damage. Also there are a number of sections where temporary traffic lights have been set up as the damage reduced the road to 1 lane. Also most of the shoulders have been washed away.

I'm no whiskey expert, but I'd have thought storing bottles under bright lights would not be conducive to the quality being maintained.

Would be great if you expand on this please? Someone asked me about storing Whiskeys.

Happy for it to be on PM, so as to say OT for this thread.

One too many? It's Friday where I am...
Time travel ;)

More seriously, was last Sat night. Forgot to post it.

I'm probably less of a whiskey expert than you. I just presumed whiskey isn't light sensitive, but who knows. I just went a Martini and some craft beers. We were really there for the music.

The venue is actually at the Vagabond hotel which is a Marriot Tribute hotel.

"In conclusion, whiskey should be stored in a cool, dark place away from any sources of heat or light. The best way to store whiskey is upright, in a glass-fronted cabinet, or on shelves. If you have whiskey that is about to go bad, there are still plenty of ways to enjoy it, such as using it as a cooking ingredient or making homemade cleaning solutions. "
