The view from my "office"

IMG_1839.jpeg
Today’s office is inside a bus.
Unfortunately all commentary is in French as there’s no English tour until Thursday!
No photos or video allowed in the factory. This, however was from a 737M8 when landing at TLS:

Where are you?
NZ, the photo’s above are from Hahei beach and the boat tour to the protected water ways. The fish photo was taken from the boat looking down into the water. The arch is Cathedral Cove, at present the walk is closed and so are beach landings due to landslides associated with the recent cyclones and minor earthquakes. The last picture is a cave on the boat tour, the white bit of rock that runs from the centre top of the cave to ground level is the seam between 2 earth (tectonic) plates. Water drips down into the ocean and further along the coast this seam has created the hot water beach.

This perfect photo in the middle of the total eclipse was taken by a fellow passenger from my “office”. It rivals that of the professional National Geographic photographer!

Today the office meandered amongst the mangroves. We saw four crocodiles also meandering, but one preferred to rest on a rock. Red Cone Creek, Kimberley coast.

No shots from the Airbus factory tour: not allowed but also not really a great tour. You see the same kind of planes on the SYD cattle truck airside transfer.

However, these from Aeroscopia, the museum/office next door:

Super Guppy.
Imagine spending approx 40 minutes disconnecting and then reconnecting cables every time the fuselage was opened/closed like this: ie, to operate the aircraft as it was intended!

Whole family get-together (except the foster child A220).

The Queen…

…and some of her subjects.
Wandering around that A380 you can’t help but be overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the thing: the wing root alone seems to be the size of an A320/B737.

Caught up with the cousin of a friend back home. He lives in Glina, south of Zargreb, Croatia, must have seen so much over the last 30 years. Can’t say I would want to live there. :( They are ethnic Serbs, but stayed in Croatia.

Drive down to Novi Grad on the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina, still stark reminders of the war…. Many abandoned houses and farms, you can still see bullet holes in walls.
Now in Bihac, they suffered a 3 year siege, like Ukraine, another senseless war to feed the egos of megalomaniacs.

Nothing I can do, a total eclipse of the ... heart?

You made it to Colmar. I hope you like the hotel and that great wine bar. @boomy went there first. Enjoy
Yes, its Le Cercle des Aromes in Colmar. Going back tonight. The Michelin joints you suggested weren't open when I could go.

Last night 4 wines and their premium plate E53, ( the plate E23) after I pointed out that they hadn't billed me for one of the wines. That got me a freebie 😊. More in the TR.

Wonderful bar. We stumbled upon it by accident and what a find, Grand Cru extravaganza!

Are you staying at James hotel near by? Another hidden gem.
