The view from my "office"

Last views from northern Portugal, not the result I wanted, but 2nd and 3rd is ok. Notice kangaroo flag, a couple from Brisvegas on a different companies tour. I said Woolies, Australia Day promotion! I also have several flags in my bag to give as gifts......

Of course tram 2 and the oldest metro line in continental Europe, also the cog railway to Széchenyi-hegy on a mountain just NW of the city.

I am working my way through “the world’s 10 best tram rides”. Only 1, 2 and 3 left. I only found this list after I had been to Toronto and Seattle, good reason to go back there again.

1. Queen Streetcar, Toronto

2. George Benson Waterfront Streetcar, Seattle

3. St. Charles Streetcar Tour, New Orleans

4. Streetcar F, San Francisco

5. Trams van Hong Kong

6. Tram 96, Melbourne

7. Tram 2, Budapest

8. Tram 68, Berlin

9. Tram 2, Amsterdam

10. Tram 28, Lisbon

Great list. Im missing No. 10. But there are quite a few to do and it would be great to draw up the "big" list. Done many trams/street cars in Japan, Stockholm, Helsinki, etc, etc,. As never driven a car, public transport is a must for me, so i enjoy it.

Public transport is my preference if it is convenient. Recently used JFK AirTrain and NYC subway and Budapest 100E bus to get to/from airports. We had a car in Scotland, but still wanted to ride the Edinburgh tram on our last day there. A very long lunch with friends caused us to run out of time.

We will be in Stockholm in few weeks, another tram opportunity.
