The view from my "office"

You and me both @VPS. I'm not jealous of @Captain Halliday, @JohnM or @RooFlyer at the moment - much :( :p

My wife is over having hot Christmases and I think the kids want to see continental snow after seeing it in USA in July 2018. England here we come...
No snow in London here as yet, but we are off to West Ham for an FA cup match on Saturday where the top temp for the day is supposed to be 2c.

I should clarify that it will only be December 2019 / January 2020 that I'm looking to be in England.
My wife's Uncle, who lived near Oldham, Lancs, said the white Christmases disappeared in 50s/60s. Not that he missed them, but he did take great pleasure a few weeks before an April visit many years ago sending a newspaper cutting showing 2' of snow on the road to where we would be staying. So cold Christmas/January visits can be guaranteed for your London visit, but any white is more likely to be frost. But if you are looking for cold while Oz bakes, you will not be disappointed.

You'll still be lucky to get snow at Christmas - it's more a late Jan/early Feb thing based on the past four years' experiences. I'll be there again in two weeks, and the surprising thing is the weather forecasts show the same symbols and have the same descriptions of the weather as us - just a few degrees different though. I love how they can tell the difference between Abundant Sunshine and Brilliant Sunshine, when it's only getting to 4 deg!

What about the ultra-squeaky icing sugar-like sand at EsPERance?:):D

Sure ... just follow the red/pink bits on the map (just like the old Empire!) I don't think there is an explanation for 'squeaking' sand is there?

Green bits = gold!

As you can see, a bit more movement on the Darling Fault (that big N-S line just east of Perth) and the city will experience PERfect marine conditions. :)

Just like today... forecast just had a blazing sun. I suppose it was right, it was blue skies and low sun when I was out today but it was also rather chilly (4 degrees). I'm sure @OATEK and @cove would agree!

4 degrees but feels like 2 degrees, brrrrr!

It's the one (and only) thing I miss about living in a flat, generally well insulated as you're surrounded by other flats - houses just don't seem to work all that well in that regard and insulation in these old builds is rather rubbish, our heating bill is going to be astronomical!

Oh and it's about 2 degrees cooler where I am. 2 degrees and feels like -1.

Shiprock in the (Sutherland) Shire this morning for a scuba dive.

I remember 20yrs ago this place was a goat track and someone put a rope on a tree so you could pull yourself up the hill and had to crawl in some places and now there are stairs and gates!

Just other worldly to have hulking great East-enders singing about bubbles!
How is the temperature across the Channel? Didn't get above 5 degrees in London for the football yesterday.
