The view from my "office"

Whilst my passion is hotel car parks, and occasionally supermarket car parks, I do enjoy an unusual view, and this view, of the engine of a Dornier 328-300 is not something you see everyday. In this particular case it was from my temporary office of 2A, on said aircraft, prior to take off from MAN. 😛😛

This morning hunted Instagramers to find the secret lupin field location as the one near the church is under water

Hubbys contribution to hunting for Instagramers was to be a Instagramer... Looking more pained than thoughtful though

So we then ventured to Mt John observatory

I love street art/stuff like this, it was in the middle of nowhere/20klm gravel road.

Lunch was at a local Cafe, Our Dog Friday. The traditional Christmas egg and bacon burger.

Overall, talking about returning next year and hope for clearer skies but would like to find accommodation with pool or spa or massage ect. Peppers is comfortable but lacking all of these.

It's been a hectic few days so playing a bit of catch up... next stop was Tainan (the former capital during Imperial Times), galloping along at 300 km/h on the High Speed Rail to cruise around town on our 'mini' Giant bicycles visiting Chikhan Tower, Snail Alley, Tainan Judicial Museum, Confucius Temple, Garden Night Market, Eternal Golden Castle, Anping Fort, Anping Tree House, Former Tait & Co Merchant House.

Next up Taichang, however we arrived early evening so rested and prepared for a day trip the next day. The next day we ventured out to Sun Moon Lake, it's about a 2 hour bus ride each way. It's worth buying the pass that gives you things like the gondola ride, boat ride, etc. as it works out cheaper. There's a few different passes you can buy each with their own combination of items. A day was plenty and between the gondola ride and the boat was enough to fill a day quite easily. I'd skip the cycling for this one, I don't think it adds much value.....

Taichang was more of a rest stop for us, well - as resting as one could pretend to be...... we had a wander around town and stumbled across a few cool areas. The river walk was lit up as part of their Christmas Dreams expo and we stumbled across animation alley too, good fun.
