The view from my "office"

Sansouci Palace Potsdam

Built by Frederick the Great. No grand tombs for him. Here he is buried alongside his favourite dogs. The potatoes are a reminder of his "organising distribution of free seeds throughout his Kingdom with instructions on how to grow them. As a consequence, even when Prussia was on its knees during the Seven Years War (1756-1763), fighting against a coalition of French, Russian, and Austro-Hungarian troops, Prussian peasants were still able to escape disaster by eating potatoes."

It was a slow connection, so I can add more now, just prior to there we went to New Brighton Pier, big seagulls, looks like they drop clams against the concrete to get to the flesh.
I believe this area suffered badly from the quake. Some very nice expensive houses up the hill side.
