Tigerair Australia Delays/Cancellations

Probably because an intense but possibly brief from the BOM radar map storm has dumped on SYD, there are a large number of aircraft in holding patterns as at 1745 hours on Sunday 12 February.

TT252, the 1530 hours MEL - SYD that was airborne at 1622 was among those affected with A320 VH-XUG likely to arrive at 1800 hours, 65 minutes late.

UPDATE: TT668, the 1910 hours CBR - MEL (A320 VH-VNH) took off at 2008; arrival is suggested as 50 late at 2110.

On Monday 13 February 2017, TT514, the 0700 hours MEL - BNE has been delayed until an expected pushback time of 0900. There is no obvious late incoming flight that has delayed this, so it must be an aircraft that spent overnight in MEL.

Continuing with Monday 13 February, TT282, the last of the night at 2105 from MEL to SYD has been cancelled. TT264, the 1825 was not airborne until 1923.

Southbound, TT271, the 1840 hours SYD - MEL (which often would form TT282 after it arrives from SYD at 2015) was also cancelled.

TT213, the 0700 SYD - MEL on Thursday 16 February (A320 VH-VNH) did not become airborne until 0754, about 35 minutes late so the inevitable result is predicted arrival at roughly 0916, 41 minutes late.

The next sector for VH-VNH was TT218, the 0905 hours MEL - SYD with it becoming airborne at 1010, so arrival should be at 1132, 57 minutes late. It looks to have spent extra time on the ground which at the larger airports in Oz is often the case for JQ and TT, so when the schedules have quick turnarounds of 30 or 35 minutes, sometimes these are not met, compounding previous unpunctuality.

With what looks to be a very severe storm approaching SYD as at 1450 on Friday 17 February, mid to late afternoon delays are likely.

TT372 (1440 hours mid afternoon SYD up to BNE that did not take off until 1639, A320 VH-VNC) departed to the north but then turned south, probably to escape another storm iteration.

Also on Friday 17 February, TT253 (mid afternoon 1515 hours SYD - MEL, A320 VH-XUG) took off at 1703 so arrival should be at about 1810, 80 minutes tardy.

Late into the evening of Friday 17 February, delays continue into and out of what had been a stormy Sydney.

TT642, the 1750 hours from ADL across to SYD took off at 2247 with A320 VH-VNH. Arrival should be at about 2246 instead of 2010, 156 late. However there is quite a queue of aircraft trying to get into SYD.

TT627 from the north (OOL to be exact, the 1930) took off at 2035 with A320 VH-VNR. Arrival is predicted for about 2253, 53 minutes tardy and not far off curfew (although the important time is when it lands, not reaches the terminal.)

On Saturday 18 February, TT403, the 0700 early morning MEL - PER that took off at 0747 should arrive at about 0847, 32 minutes late. B738 VH-VOY is the aircraft.

Somewhat north of that, TT354 (0705 hours SYD - BNE, A320 VH-VNR) was airborne at 0814. Arrival at 0833, 58 minutes tardy is expected.

The midafternoon Saturday 18 February Sydney weather (storms) that has continued beyond 1900 hours is not assisting timekeeping with TT263 (A320 VH-VNB, the 1725 hours SYD - MEL that was airborne at 1831) likely to arrive 45 minutes down at 1945.

Sunday 19 February 2017 sees TT562 (1300 hours MEL - OOL) and TT264 (1825 hours MEL - SYD) cancelled, as is TT279, the 2025 hours SYD down to MEL.

TT206 on Monday 20 February, the early morning 0645 hours MEL - SYD (A320 Vh-VNO) was not airborne until 0741. Arrival should be at about 0848, 33 minutes late as TT had added an extra five minutes to what was previously the 85 minute MEL - SYD gate-to-gate schedules.

With the strong westerlies in SYD on Monday 20 February (gusting to 46kmh as at 1015 AEDT), although there were some movements on one of the north-south runways a few minutes ago, as at 1015 it looked as if operations may have shifted to Mode 13: use of runway 25 for arrivals from the east and departures to the west.

1000 on a Monday is fairly busy, but once the international departures crank up at around 1100 that is when things may get more interesting and delays may increase somewhat.

TT635 (A320 VH-VNC) had yet to takeoff at 1025 despite being scheduled for pushback at 0930 for its journey across to ADL.

TT552 (0800 MEL to OOL that took off at 0906 hours, A320 VH-XUH) on Thursday 23 February should arrive at around 1011, 66 minutes tardy.

TT582, the identically timed MEL departure but instead to CNS was airborne at 0907 with arrival suggested at 1127, 62 minutes late. VH-VOR is the B738.

UPDATE: Later in the day, VH-VOR is on the 1605 hours TT413 (that took off at 1658) from MEL to PER with likely arrival 38 minutes late at 1758 hours. It has therefore picked up a bit of time since its trip to CNS and back.

On saturday 25 February, TT393 (1025 hours PPP down to SYD) was airborne at 114. Arrival is expected at 1421, 36 minutes late with A320 VH-VND.

Tuesday 28 February has TG262 (A320 VH-VND, the 1745 late afternoon MEL - SYD that took off at 1836) likely to arrive at around 2000 hours, 50 minutes tardy.

AFF member Ceesna 180 kindly informed us in the QF delays thread that there was heavy rain late in the evening of Ash Wednesday, 1 March 2017 in PER. On Thursday 2, TT424, the 2345 hours Wednesday PER - MEL (A320 VH-VNQ) took off at 0126 so MEL arrival is suggested as 109 minutes tardy at 0809. This will delay TT449, the 0820 hours MEL to ADL that is normally schedule to be off its blocks at 0820.

TT213 (0700 SYD down to MEL, A320 VH-VNF) did not manage to become airborne until 0843, so arrival should be at 1013, 98 minutes tardy. As a result TT218, the 0905 hours MEL - SYD is likely to depart at around 1050 (or later given how delays tend to compound, and ATC may not to be able to immediately give clearance to depart.)

Friday 3 March 2017 sees TT700 (0845 hours MEL - CFS) delayed until about 1000 in its departure and TT556, the 1010 MEL - OOL likely to depart about 75 minutes tardy.

TT520 from MEL to BNE, the 1035 should push back about 40 late while TT226, the 1050 hours from MEL to SYD is expected to depart about 45 late.

The significant rain in Sydney will not be assisting timekeeping.

Later on 3 March, TT256 (1645 hours MEL - SYD) has been cancelled.

In further on Friday 3 March 2017, TT557, the 1145 hours early lunchtime OOL - MEL (A320 VH-VNC) was not in the air until an extremely late 1434 this afternoon, so arrival is predicted for 1728, 143 minutes behind the timetable.

Tt673 (1420 hours CFS - SYD, A320 VH-VNJ) was airborne at 1604. It should arrive at around 1701, 91 minutes late.

Continuing with Friday 3 March on what has been a wet day in Sydney but a dry one in Adelaide and Melbourne, TT642, the 1750 hours ADL - SYD was not airborne until 2007, so arrival of A320 VH-VNH is suggested as 2221, 131 minutes late.
