Tigerair Australia Delays/Cancellations

Thursday 3 August's scheduled 0645 hours MEL up to SYD, TT206, the 0645 hours has had a shocking start to its day with A320 VH-VNK becoming airborne at 0833. Expected arrival is at 0945 hours, 90 minutes late.

In the mid evening of Thursday 3 August 2017, TT642 across from ADL to SYD, the 1720 hours that took off at 1850 with A320 VH-XUG looks to be arriving at 2130, 110 minutes late. Quite a few aircraft have been encountering holds into SYD.

Friday 4 August's evening has TT264 (1825 hours MEL - SYD that took off at 1920 with B738 VH-VOY) suggested as arriving at 2038 hours, 48 minutes late.

A320 VH-VNQ on TT501 (0730 hours MEL down to HBA on Monday 7 August that was not in the sky until 0835) should arrive at roughly 0948, 48 minutes late.

On Thursday 10 August, TT213 (0700 SYD down to MEL, A320 VH-XUH) was airborne at 0756, so arrival is estimated at 0919, 44 late. JQ503, a similarly timed flight was almost as badly delayed so this may be a case of ATC mandating altered takeoff times as part of its 'controlled arrivals' that aims to reduce the extent of holding patterns that consume extra fuel.

Much later on 10 August, with some early evening air traffic congestion in MEL - not overly unusual for a later in the week, weekday time like 1800 to 1930 hours - TT263 (1725 hours SYD down to MEL that was in the sky at 1859) should arrive with B738 VH-VUD at 1931, 31 late.

TT700 (Friday 11 August 0845 hours morning MEL up to CFS that was in the sky at 0934, A320 VH-VNB) should arrive at 1112 hours, 32 minutes tardy.

Later on 11 August, TT776 (1900 hours BNE - PER, A320 VH-VNP) took off at 1955. Arrival is forecast at 2333 late tonight, 48 minutes behind the schedule.

The 1800 hours early evening ADL across to SYd TT244 (VH-VNB) that was in the sky at 1855 looks to be arriving at 2059 on 11 August, 39 minutes late.

At a check at 0750 hours today, there did not appear to be any domestic flight delays to speak of in BNE (12 August.)

Monday 14 August is benign weatherwise on Australia's east coast (except for manmade smoke haze from burning off in Greater Sydney's or Blue Mountains etc. forests), but has not been so in Perth WA.

TT585 (1055 hours CNS- MEL that was airborne only about 15 minutes late at 1120 with A320 VH-VNB) should arrive at roughly 1457 hours, 37 minutes tardy. This will delay TT413, the timetabled 1505 hours MEL across to PER.

TT243 (1315 hours southbound SYD - MEL that was in the sky at 1517, B738 VH-VUB) should arrive at 1546 hours, 54 minutes behind schedule. This will delay the 1530 hours flight back to SYD, TT252 by an expected half an hour in its departure.

Earlier, TT238 (1300 hours early afternoon MEL - SYD) was cancelled.

TT252 (1530 hours MEL - SYD, also B738 VH-VUB) was airborne at 1638. Arrival should be at 1730 hours, 35 late.

Later on Monday 14 August, TT259 (1610 hours SYD - MEL that was in the sky at 1732 with A320 VH-VNC) should arrive at 1858 in the early evening, 73 late.

TT642 (1720 hours late afternoon from ADL across to SYD) did not become airborne until 2004. VH-XUH (A320) is predicted to be at its designated terminal tarmac space at 2157 tonight, 137 late.

Later on 15 August, TT636 across from ADL to SYD (A320 VH-XUG, the 1100 hours that did not become airborne until 1247) should arrive at around 1444 hours, 84 minutes late.

Wednesday 16 August has TT229, the mid morning 1005 hours SYD - MEL that was in the sky at 1103 (B738 VH-VOY) likely to arrive at 1230, 50 minutes late.

Still with 16 August but during mid evening, TT625 (1800 hours from OOL down to SYD that was in the sky at 1842 with A320 VH-VNP) is arriving at 2004 hours, 34 late.

Thursday 17 August sees TT664 that had a delayed takeoff from CBR instead of close to its scheduled 1705 hours departure likely to arrive down in MEL at 1900, 45 late. VH-VNB is the pretty much bog standard A320.

TT263 on the SYD - MEL route, the 1725 hours that was in the sky at 1902 with B738 VH-VUD should arrive at 2033 tonight, 93 late.

With the winds a'roaring in SYD and Quickstatus reporting several go arounds earlier today, TT646 (1100 hours ADL across to SYD that took off at a very, very much delayed 1534 is arriving at 1752 instead of 1320 hours, 272 minutes tardy. Aircraft is A320 VH-VND.

TT377, in contrast has a relatively mild delay with its 1530 hours departure turning into takeoff at 1610 this afternoon. A320 VH-VNH is suggested as arriving at 1800 hours, 55 minutes late.

The 1105 hours CNS - SYD (TT677, VH-VNP) took off at 1716 late this afternoon, almost six hours late. SYD arrival is predicted at 1953, 353 late.

With the continuing windy weather in SYD, there are many flight cancellations across QF, TT and VA, with many passengers likely to have to spend tonight at one of these two airports.

Northbound, TT272 and TT282, respectively the 1945 and 2105 hours MEL - SYD have been cancelled.

TT472, the 2035 hours arrival in MEL has been cancelled, as have Tt279 and Tt287 from SYD to MEL (respectively the 2025 and 2145 hours scheduled departures. TT416 ex PER that normally arrives in MEL at 2235 late night has also got the gong.

On Saturday 19 August, TT511, the 0905 hours arrival in MEL ex BNE has been cancelled.

Much later on Friday 18 August, TT389 (2005 hours BNE - SYD that took off at 2103 hours with A320 VH-VNH) is one of a number of flights that may (with the windy weather) have permission to land after curfew in SYD, with arrival suggested as 2316 (though note landing time is about 2311) rather than the scheduled at gate time of 2140 hours.
