Tigerair Australia Delays/Cancellations

During the late evening of Tuesday 22 August, TT264 (1825 hours MEL - SYD, A320 VH-VNC that was in the sky much delayed at 2115) is arriving at 2220 hours, 210 minutes late. This aircraft then (by necessity) had a quick turnaround with the scheduled 2025 hours TT279 back down to MEL taking off at 2255. Arrival should be at 0009 hours on Wednesday 23 August, 129 minutes tardy.

Earlier this afternoon it looks like VH-VNC may have had to substitute for another aircraft on TT562, the scheduled 1300 hours MEL - OOL that departed at about 1530.

TT264 (Wednesday 23 August 1825 hours from MEL up to SYD that was airborne at 1933 with A320 VH-XUH) is predicted to arrive at 2038 mid evening, 48 minutes late.

TT663 (1030 hours MEL - CBR, Tuesday 5 September) is forecast to push back 40 minutes late while later, TT562 from MEL up to sunny OOL is predicted to commence its journey at 1335 hours, 35 late.

TT511 on Monday 11 September 2017, the timetabled 0640 hours from BNE down to MEL with A320 VH-VNH took off at 0730, An 0947 hours, 42 minutes tardy arrival is estimated.

The 0700 SYD down to MEL, TT213 did not become airborne until 0801. Arrival of VH_VNR should be at 0930 hours, 55 late.

Later on 11 September, TL183 (VH-VNF< the 1445 hours mid afternoon TSV - DRW) took off at 1513; arrival should be at 1736 hours, 36 late.

TT206 (scheduled 0645 hours MEL up to SYD) has had a very bad start to its Tuesday 12 September, taking off at 0821 with suggested arrival of A320 Vh-XUH at 0928 hours, 78 minutes late.

While Tuesdays tend to be the weekday with lowest passenger demand, a delay of this magnitude on the first flight of the day can be difficult to recover from. On a busier day with tight turnarounds this can result in an aircraft running late all day unless a return rotation is cancelled.

With strong winds in SYD on Thursday 14 September single runway operations have been the order of the day. TT228, the 1110 hours MEL - SYD was cancelled. TT264, the early evening 1825 hours on the same route is also to receive the Royal boot order.

The 1315 hours BNE down to SYD (TT371, A320 VH-XUG) was in the sky at 1449, arriving at 1612 hours, 82 minutes behind schedule.

Later on 14 September, TT252 (1530 hours MEL - SYD that was in the sky at 1715) should pull in to its allocated gate at 1824, 89 minutes tardy with A320 VH-VNK.

TT256 on the same northbound route (A320 VH-XUH) is estimated to arrive at 1902 hours early this evening, 52 minutes tardy.

Still on 14 September, TT642, the 1750 hours very late afternoon ADL across to SYD (A320 VH-XUG) that was in the sky at 1924 is arriving at 2229 late tonight, 139 minutes behind the schedule.

On another day that thus far saw some challenging early morning winds but which has since been variable in Sydney, TT224, the 1010 hours from MEL to the mainland harbour city took off at 1245. Arrival of A320 VH-VNP should be at about 1355 this afternoon, 140 minutes behind schedule.

Continuing with Friday 15 September, B738 VH-VOY on TT243 (1315 hours SYD - MEL that did not become airborne until 1721 - almost four hours late) is arriving at a suggested 1836 hours, 226 minutes late.

Windy conditions in MEL on the morning of Monday 18 September have thus far not lead to many delays but as at 0800 many aircraft were in holds due to the peak period and perhaps partly due to the wind. TT213, the 0700 hours SYD - MEL (A320 VH-VNR) did not take off until 0756, so arrival is estimated at 0926, 51 late. This may be an underestimate of any delays as the aircraft has yet to enter a hold being encountered by aircraft that are further progressed in their flights.

Later, VH-VNF (TT520, 1015 hours morning MEL - BNE that only became airborne at 1128) should arrive at 1336 hours, 66 late.

B738 VH-VOY (1110 MEL up to SYD that pointed skywards at exactly 1200 'high noon') should arrive at 1306, 31 late.

Continuing on 18 September, TT565, the mid afternoon 1535 hours OOL - MEL that was airborne at 1620 (A320 VH-VNB) looks to be arriving at roughly 1840, 45 late.

TT271, the 1840 hours SYD - MEL that was in the sky at 1922 was in the standard Mt Buller, Vic. holding pattern but has emerged, so arrival will be at around 2051, 36 late with A320 VH-XUG.

On Tuesday 19 September, TT505 (1530 MEL - HBA< A320 VH-VNQ) took off at 1625 so arrival is at 1733 hours, 43 minutes behind schedule. This aircraft had previously run a return MEL - TSV (TT728/ TT729) and was late on both, with its 0815 scheduled initial departure this morning becoming takeoff at 0901.

Friday 22 September has TT497, the 2000 hours evening CNS down to BNE that was in the sky at 2106 (A320 VH-VND) set to arrive at 2310, an hour tardy.

Because of the SYD airport radar failure that occurred at about 0520 hours on Monday 25 September, there are many delays and cancellations with all the domestic airlines that route through or to or from SYD.

TT206, the 0645 hours from MEL up to SYD had yet to depart by 0805 hours. ATC has been holding many flights at such airports.

TT213 (southbound SYD - MEL 0700 hours A320 VH-VNJ) was in the sky at 0821 so arrival is expected at about 0930, 55 minutes late.

TT231 (scheduled 1040 hours SYD - MEL) has been cancelled.

UPDATE: TT206 (A320 VH-VNC) was airborne at 0828 so arrival looks to be at around 0930, 75 late.

Delays are continuing on Monday 25 September with TT464, the 1500 hours ADL across to MEL that took off at 1551 (A320 VH-VND) suggested as arriving at 1731 late this afternoon, 41 minutes late.

Later on 25 September, delays are still the case up until nominal stumps with TT271, the 1840 hours SYD down to MEL (A320 VH-VNK) becoming airborne at 2207, more than 180 minutes late with suggested arrival at about 2332 tonight, 197 late.

On 28 September 2017, TT218 (the 0905 hours mid morning MEL - SYD that was in the sky at 1002 with A320 VH-VNH) is arriving at 1106, 31 minutes tardy.

In further on 28 September, TT247 (scheduled 1350 hours SYD down to MEL, A320 VH-VNP) was still at the Sydney terminal at 1456 hours.

It had arrived 50 minutes late on TT636 at about 1410, ex ADL. Earlier it was on TT635 from SYD to ADL but the rot started with this morning's scheduled 0645 hours MEL up to SYD, Tt206 that dd not take off until 0743 hours and hence was about 40 late arriving at its SYD gate.

It is variable whether aircraft doing a lot of shorter duration east coast flights can pick up time during the day: sometimes they may on a gate-to-gate basis for a flight but then lose it again (and more) due to a slow turnaround, as TT636 to TT247 is today.

UPDATE: VH-VNP then operated the 1615 hours MEL - CNS TT590, becoming airborne at 1733 for a suggested 2053 hours, 73 minutes late arrival tonight. It should then be on TT595, the 2010 hours CNS - MEL to complete a day of failing to keep the timetable on any flight.
