Tigerair Australia Delays/Cancellations

TT271 (FRiday 15 November, the 1840 hours early evening SYD down to MEL airborne at 1926 hours with A320 VH-VNR) looks to be arriving at 2045, half an hour behind.

On Tuesday 19 November, TT256, the oddly timed 1735 hours MEL - SYD took off at 1914 so arrival for A320 VH-XUH is a suggested 2026 hours, 86 minutes behind the schedule.

Wednesday 20 November finds TT263, the 1730 hours late afternoon SYD down to MEL not taking off until 1841 hours. B738 VH-VUX should arrive at 1958, 53 minutes late. This aircraft only joined the TT fleet on 18 October, having been transferred from VA.

TT585 (VH-VUD) is the 1425 hours CNS down to MEL in the sky at 1546 for a suggested 68 minute late arrival also at 1958.

The 0630 hours northbound MEL - SYD, TT206, on Thursday 21 November (B738 VH-VUB) did not take off until 0721 so arrival is suggested as 0836, 36 late.

Continuing with VH-VUB, as at 1130 hours on 21 November, winds were gusting at up to 61kmh at MEL, but TT228, the 1105 hours MEL - SYD had not pushed back by 1205 so will be at least 45 late arriving.

UPDATE: It arrived at 1321 hours, 51 late, having pushed back at 1211 hours.

B738 VH-VUD on TT524, the 1300 hours lunchtime MEL - BNE was still taxiing at 1347 so arrival will be at least half an hour late.

With winds of up to 87kmh gusting at MEL and a brief thunderstorm, arrivals have been badly affected timewise. TT243 is the 1300 hours SYD - MEL airborne at 1431 with (again, see the previous post) VH-VUB. Arrival is suggested as 1618 mid afternoon, 103 minutes late, so this aircraft has lost close to another hour since was monitored earlier this afternoon.

TT461 (B738 VH-VOR, the 1330 hours MEL across to ADL airborne at 1552) is showing as a likely 1631 hours arrival, 126 late.

Passengers on TT252, the 21 November 2019 scheduled 1525 hours mid afternoon MEL - SYD northbound must have drawn the short straw as A320 VH-VNK did not become airborne until 2113 mid evening. Arrival should be 2225, 335 minutes behind schedule.

Friday 22 November 2019 has TT369, the 1120 hours southbound BNE down to SYD airborne at 1217 hours. Arrival should be 40 minutes late at 1435 hours for A320 VH-VNG.

On Saturday 23 November 2019, TT522, the 1015 hours midmorning MEL - BNE is expected to depart at 1205 hours, 110 minutes tardy.

UPDATE: A320 VH-VNC was airborne at 1230 hours with expected BNE arrival 1325, 115 late.

Sunday 24 November's very late night 2355 hours redeye, TT762 (A320 VH-VNC) from PER to SYD took off on Monday 25 at 0114 hours so a 57 minute tardy arrival at 0807 is the suggestion.

Later on Monday 25 November, TT643 (1600 hours afternoon SYD to ADL airborne at 1604) should arrive 46 late at 1826 with A320 VH-VNO.

Like the opposition JQ516, due to stormy weather around the Sydney Basin (including NTL), the Monday 25 November TT256, the 1635 hours MEL -b SYD airborne at 1742 (about 55 late) got as far north as Bowning (where it performed three racrecourse circuits for its second holding pattern after an earlier one at Holbrook) but then turned south and is heading back to MEL with expected arrival in the southern capital at about 2000 hours. So the poor passengers may be sleeping on the MEL airport floor tonight if the plane can't get to SYD, and TT doesn't provide hotel accommodation.

Hoteliers must love this.

To add to the lengthy list tonight TT264 MEL-SYD (B738 VH-VOR) has diverted back to MEL. The flight didn’t even pass Bright

A key factor in this may not just be weather, but how at my quick back-of-the-envelope count at about 2135 tonight (25 November 2019) how there were roughly 35 aircraft "close" to SYD on approach. Given to that we must add departures, this is a huge workload for ATC even if dispensations for taxiing (for departure) up until 2245 are freely given under the present Federal Government.

TT393 (1635 hours PPP - SYD, A320 VH-VND) was airborne at 1827 with arrival suggested as 2205, 125 minutes tardy.

The 1810 hours ADL across to SYD, TT644, was airborne at 1959 hours with VH-VNO. As at 2158 it was holding (along with a slew of aircraft) northwest of Crookwell, so its claimed 2232 hours arrival, 122 late, may be optimistic.

TT218 (Tuesday 26 November 0930 hours MEL - SYD) is suggested as pushing back at 1035 hours.

The 1100 hours MEL - CBR, TT62 has been cancelled. This is TT's sole Tuesday northbound on this route, so presumably passengers will be rebooked on VA.

Later on 26 November, TT251 (1430 hours SYD down to MEL, A320 VH-XUH that was in the sky at 1521) should arrive from a stormy SYD to a fairly windy MEL 37 minutes late at 1642 hours.

Wednesday 27 November finds TT703 from CFS down to sunny MEL badly late. B738 VH-VOR is the taskmaster for this 1300 hours flight that took off at 1603. Predicted arrival is 189 minutes tardy at 1809 hours.
