Did you call in to the Glenmorangie distillery on the way to/from Dunrobin? SIL comes from Tain, and used to bump in to Duchess of Sutherland there from time to time.

2010 Alaska-we opted to use the Marine Highway to get around. First ferry was the Taku, an overnight trip between Ketchikan & Petersburg. We had a cabin, it was possible to pitch a tent on a section of the back deck

Non-Pom here. I spent a week skiing in Bulgaria in 1995, back in my student days. Have wanted to go back ever since.

Was a massive building boom happening when we were there. Plenty of places that seemed to have been built very quickly and poorly. Found this article re the building boom

I love the drive across the NZ southern alps across Arthur's Pass from CHC to the west coast. Early May last year. Just went half way to an Airbnb at Arthur's to see bigal's family

I even remembered how to make a decent fire.

Then a couple of weeks later, no fire required, at The Reef House at Palm Cove for an three night weekend. What a beautiful hotel, and Palm Cove is just a really nice relaxing place. This time in six weeks we'll be back, for five nights this time.
