Well after all this time has passed.....in the mail today was the elite card complete with luggage tags. I originally applied for the status match for my husband from qantas platinum months ago. I thought it wasn't going to happen??

Really? Time to try again for my partner who missed out last time? Has there been some success recently?
It's a terrific match. I've used it several times to great advantage, with lounge access, priority assistance, priority check in and the like.

Requested my card previously when it did not come, and was told that it would be sent if I credited something to TK.

Then, out of the blue, speak of the devil, guess what arrives today?

Not a big deal since my next *A booking is an award, but it would be nice in case I had to tack on an additional 20 kg to whatever I was entitled to for whatever reason.

Has anyone who got the status matched requalified already?

I'm assuming that requalifying in the second year (requiring 37.5k points, I think) would probably be easier as you can buy miles then. I'm wondering what sort of expiry one can expect if you requalify in the first year or in the second.

I travelled enough to requalify last year (my first year with TK) and saw no increase in the expiry date. The original date was for two years anyway so it may have included an extension 'built in'. I expect to travel again with them this year so should have enough to requalify again. If my expiry does not change again, I will be calling them.

So I've submitted (I think) a new request using my platinum status. The new form seems a bit strange. When I pressed up load to attach a copy of my card it cleared the form so I'm not certain it's submitted.

I had the same so then used IE and it worked fine.
