Turkish Airlines Status Match

Longish transit in Europe today - in a *A F Lounge, courtesy of TK Status Match - and received an update from TK on miles earned.

Idly logged on to TK account, and found the following message:

"Congratulations! You have already achieved the required criteria for Elite re-qualification. Your Elite membership will automatically be renewed on the expiry date of your card for another 2 years."

That was one great status match!

My grateful thanks to all those who contributed to this thread - and I will mentally send off a thank you on each *A lounge visit, premium check in, fast track security, priority seat selection and on and on.

Thank you, all - and especially to the OP. Will need to trawl to identify - but working mobile at the moment. :p:p:p

Turkish Airlines status matching up to Star Alliance Gold - Live From A Lounge

Trying to sign up to miles & smiles, but it keeps chucking a wobbly.

If anyone else is going to give it a go, post your experiences here.

Same here. After trying numerous tiumes to sign up online for Miles and Smiles membership I gave up and telephoned them in Istanbul. Why? Because Sydney office phone is never answered.
Now trying to login, some days my PIN is accepted and other days it is rejected. Right now I have exhausted my 3 attempts and it has locked access and provided contacts to let them know, either a phone number in Turkey or email. Click on the email and send. An email comes back saying they no longer use this email for contacts and to click through to their site via the link. Do that and I get directed to an online form that does not work.
Boy, this airline needs an IT overhaul.

This status match has been going for a very long time. One has to wonder what this is costing. I also wonder if TK is showing preference to Australian requests, given their apparent plans to head Down Under.

Just joined Miles&Smiles by telephoning Turkey. The online form did not work for me.

Once account activated, I have put in a status match request following these instructions:
Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles Elite Card (Star Alliance Gold) Status Match | LoyaltyLobby

Fingers crossed!

Star Gold matched from QFWP-OWE will see me put a lot more business into Star Alliance.

Submitted for a Status Match on 14/6/2013. Received email stating that I have been status matched, just 2 hours later on the same day! How's that for customer service!! Logged in, and indeed my card has changed from a red classic card to a gold elite card. I think the trick with this is to send both a picture of your membership card and a PDF of you online activity statement. That way they don't need to request further information from you and can just approve you on the spot.

Now hopefully the star gold elite card doesn't take too long to get to me!

It's great to see an airline serious about customer service! Time to make some Star alliance bookings.. LOL

Aaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Turkish Airlines site drives me nuts!

Chuksta, encouraged by your recent success online I just clicked through to the feedback form to send in a request. The first window asks for a security code to type in and submit. You know those squiggly letter and number combinations to stop the bots in their tracks. So it says type the code shown....there is no code shown, so I click " Try a different image". Still nothing! Turkish would have to win any award for the most buggy site in the universe.

Don't use Firefox. I read on FlyerTalk that people were having issues with FireFox and uploading the files. Try IE or Safari. I used Safari on Mac and the first time I got an error in Turkish when I went to upload the first of two files.

Then tried again, typed my info very quickly, typed the letters and numbers on the image, and uploaded the 2 files (must be less than 1 meg). Success. Maybe the code timed out because i took ages to check my information was correct the first time.

Also try navigating to that feedback page direct from the Turkish Airlines website. From memory, the links were ever so slightly different from the website and from the article.

That's all I can think of

Yes I navigated via the Turkish site to Miles&Smiles etc. Must be Mozilla Firefox then...I'll switch to IE for the contact. Their IT dept. must still be in the dark ages.

Got my match approved on Friday a few days after submitting my second request.
