Re: UK - in or out of the EU?

Regardless what way people thought vote should go, I have family in England, their experience was to remain. They are very worried for their and their children's future.

Yes. Heard from my son's partners family in the UK and they are really worried and distressed. Massive change like this takes a huge toll on older people who will experience all the stress but not likely to be around for the positives.

They will avoid an even bigger toll of staying which is a relief for them.

That isn't their opinion. . Otherwise they would have voted for exit.

And now for ...

* Nexit

* Spexit

* Swexit

Edit:

<snip>
In France, before the British vote, the weekly JDD conducted an online poll with one question: Do you want France out of the EU? 88% of people answered "YES!"

* Frexit

Just heard an ABC radio report that EU President Juncker has said that the Brits should not wait for Cameron to go (ie October) to start the Brexit process, but should start the process ASAP "however painful that process may be". The arrogance of the man ... and he (and others) may wonder why many Brits resented to EU.
<snip>

I was just talking to a mate in the UK. He voted Stay, and said everyone he knew voted Stay, but before I could bring it up, he mentioned the above quote and lamented what a tosser the guy was, especially, as my friend said (a bit hopefully I think) ... the UK hasn't even formally and legally decided to leave the EU yet!

Re: UK - in or out of the EU?

You keep dreaming. Tell me how it feels when England is by itself and in a long recession.

You make it sound like the UK is a tiny six person island with diesel generators selling coconuts. Well, you're wrong.

The EU will be the real losers. UK will have short term pain, but overall will be stronger. The wildcards are Scotland and Northern Ireland, but with all the bluster now, I'm not entirely sure that will correlate into them leaving the UK.

This historic vote in the UK has caused a lot of issues for the EU. It will start self imploding into a massive mess. I'm glad the UK has jumped off the sinking ship first.

In your opinion.

Of course it's my opinion :D chill pill

Whilst the opinion of JDD, may be subjective, or very contrived. Its hardly a referendum. (I know, don't mention the war, read Brexit poll)

Lots of people with the 'I told you so' , 'holier than thou' , 'my s**t don't smell' opinions going around. Opinions or otherwise.

Just take it in. The sun will rise tomorrow. Sure I can book at The Savoy Grill now for about 10% less. :)

Re: UK - in or out of the EU?

Hahaha, looks like we have the first blinker :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier says the EU must not fall into "depression and paralysis" after the UK voted to leave the bloc.

"We cannot rush headlong into hectic action, pretending we have all the answers, but after the British decision we also cannot fall into depression and paralysis," Mr Steinmeier said.

Re: UK - in or out of the EU?

If HM steps aside for Charles I wonder what a referendum on the royalty would turn out?

There are sore losers everywhere. Why didn't they spend the energy they're now exhaling on ensuring that the remain campaign was better, and that their friends and family were registered to vote.
