My two sons were comped Gold overnight when all they have done is buy, buy and buy miles.

I once ordered the lobster and it was served to the person across the aisle (who's daughter had ordered the fried rice option for her)

I have had it a couple of times since. It might not be the best lobster thermidor but lobster on a plane, is still lobster on a plane ;) :D

I was disappointed by the lobster, and wish I hadn't ordered it. Cheesey goo... I much preferred their other menu items.

Just read elsewhere that UA will start non stop MEL-LAX service using 787-9 in late October...presumably availability will be awful!

Here it is...note that this search is for FOUR seats (as seen on various blogs)!

Hi gals and guys,
I have a return booking to Europe, but I need to change the return leg. It is from Hamburg back to Sydney and I am looking at (or around) 24 October, but I am finding it difficult to find anything from Asia to Sydney (I'm happy to arrive back in Melbourne/Sydney/Brisbane and even possibly Adelaide). Any hint on possible routing is appreciated.

Thanks heaps!

Looking for J or F? What is your current routing?

I was helping someone else to look for something similar at that time and for some reason there was virtually zero availability to SYD (MEL was fine)...even TG was zeroed out! There were sporadic days with OZ ICN-SYD. No doubt TK flies to HAM, they fly everywhere else...so you could probably do something like HAM-IST-ICN-SYD. Maybe!

Was just about to edit my post when I saw yours. Sorry, I'm after F. My current routing is SYD-BKK-FCO-VIE-HAM (destination). Return is HAM-ZRH-BKK-SYD, but I have to change the date to leave on (or about) 24 Oct. My current routing is not the best. I have flown to FRA and CDG previously on A380, but this routing was the best I could find at the time.

I can find J, but not F unfortunately. How does TG F compare with TK J or OZ J? There is F availability on TG's day flight to Sydney, but it gets too late (I have to catch a domestic flight to Canberra when I arrive, and I don't really want to arrive back in the country only to have to spend one more night in a motel)

purely on space, privacy, and staff to pax ratio... TG first is better than the others. on other aspects... food for example, TG probably doesn't win.

I end up ordering lobster and various Thai exclusive set menus (Beef, Pork Neck, Chicken etc.). At least one of them will be tasty I guess:p

I was disappointed by the lobster, and wish I hadn't ordered it. Cheesey goo... I much preferred their other menu items.

I must be very stupid, because I cannot work this out.

I need to book 2 USDM J Awards from Perth - Dublin, outbound somewhere around the 06th December this year, returning 04th Jan 2015. I know I can't book online, and a few posers the other day suggested using United.com or awardtraveler to search availability, but if i use awardtraveler it brings up Thai airways, can I make a USDM booking now for travel that late?

Or should I hold off until after 31st March to see if availability is there on Oneworld?

You can make the bookings now no problem.

It's just if there if schedule changes there could be issues down the track.

As in we could be left without flights? Or would Thai/USDM have to accommodate us? We are not really fussy on dates, just want the easiest routing to get there, and I found flights on awardtraveleer PER-BKK-LHR-DUB which suit us or even PER-BKK-ZUR-DUB

Which *A carrier flies LHR-DUB?

Its coming up as EI on awardtraveler. I know EI pulled out of *O years ago but I don't know who they have aligned themselves with these days. Its showing on award traveller anyway.

Hi all,

Can you have a stopover in Paris or only an open jaw because it's not a *A hub?

Ultimately I want to end up in IAH via a few days/ week in CDG and surrounds. I think this means either:

A) I'd have to fly to FRA for a stopover and then have a separate rev fare FRA-CDG return
B) fly into CDG on an open jaw, and fly out of somewhere else, taking a rev. Fare to that departure point

is that understanding correct?
