This isn't really correct. What I am talking about is the refurbished 747 All series, 9 nnew suites in first and 40 llie flat seats in business compared to the very, very old configuration. The 14F wwill no longer exist.

the first refitted aircraft with the new 9 f cabins won't be until august, and is currently scheduled to fly to fra. they'll need a second one to make the service daily. and I would think august would be an aspiration.

based on that, I would be banking on either 10f or 14f to Australia for a while. and who knows beyond the current timetable which aircraft type they are going to use anyway... could well revert to the a346.

Yea that is all true. The flight I have booked is in December and I am just statibg the aircraft that is currently loaded in the system for that flight is the 747 all series refurbished. A bit of a gamble I suppose but I hope they are done with the refurb by then or will be a bit disappointing. Long way between now and then, so yep who knows what kind of aircraft! Being school holidays I woul put my money an the 747 though.

Don't know if this has been answered before, but how do we find out/get more information about TG 747's that service SYD-BKK.

It's a lottery what aircraft TG supplies for your flight. I have a MXP-BKK flight in July that has already had two aircraft type changes. Who knows what we will end up flying on.

747 to A340 or vice cersa? doesnt make much difference re the seat

I would take UA without hesitation. even with the 'new' seats, TG is angled lie flat. UA is full flat. plus UA has the later departure time. TGs service isn't that good (or UA's service that bad) to warrant taking TG for this flight.

Dam, called before to change it to the flight through NRT on UA, the NRT-BKK seats are still available but all of the the CTS-NRT on ANA have disappeared over today, this is looking at January next year.

For a day flight of that length,( if you are not planning to sleep,) I would take the non stop option on TG rather than change plane at NRT.

Main reason would be the later departure. 1045am and I have to come from Niseko, which would mean leaving at 6am to get there by 9am. Am a little worried about that.

Also odd that I have been able to book it but it isn't in the main GDS yet or bookable anywhere else I have looked.

Re: Thai's Airbus A380 set for HK, Singapore, Frankfurt, Tokyo, Paris

Looks pretty good, I would assume award space will tighten up once the aircraft are flying.

On the topic of aircraft changes.. July 6th TG SYD-BKK currently showing 747. I thought it was going to go back to A340-600?

It seems 747s are in the system until at least september/october.

Newbie 001 question; Expiring US points, how does one extend them? ;)

By buying 1000 points. Or I believe you can actually pay a very small fee ($9?) to avoid the expiry for another 18 months.

Any activity so answer some Audiance Reward trivia, transfer a few miles from somewhere else. There are a huge number of ways to get a few points!

OK am I stroking out or did the posts from shayne and all associated comments just get deleted from this thread?
