It would be OneWorld for sure...no doubt about that.
let's hope they keep the mileage promos going! We can then change the name of this thread to 'cheap way for oneworld F/J awards'

Hi Guys,
Is it my imagination or has TG Business dried up for next year completely out of Perth?
I have looked at March for PER-BKK-IST return or PER-BKK-CAI-IST in business and cant get out of Perth at all??
Checked Aeroplan, ANA and United
Hi BCWorld,

Your problem is probably then just TG being slack at releasing inventory...they are well known for that and they don't tend to stick to the same 350 or 330 days as other airlines...I'm sure it will be along shortly!

4 pax! Have you tried comparable searches for 2 pax instead?
Ha! Say goodbye to longhaul redemptions in J/F with good availability. You know how hard it is for J/F longhaul with QF. Same availability..... pretty much.

I have spent many many hours searching TG availability and I suspect you are NEVER going to find 4 J seats available at once on a TG flight.
What you have to do is search for two, book those seats and then sit back and wait for TG to release more seats. This is how I got the four of us F seats to Europe on TG.
At worst you might have to split your party and fly on different aircraft.
I still have 240K US miles to burn and at the moment I don't have much opportunity to burn them. My only worry is that if they merge with AA and moved to OW I think it would be much harder to redeem awards. I don't want to redeem it 300+ days in advance. I prefer availability of TG/OZ etc to Europe ....
So what does that mean for their fancy, smanchy F Terminal???
Turns out will just be some routes, not all (doing a QF of sorts): Konkurrenz durch Billigflieger - Lufthansa kündigt harten Sparkurs an - Wirtschaft - sueddeutsche.de
Considering that LH operates a huge number of routes that sport F-capable aircraft (both "shorter" longhaul and "ultra" longhaul), it will be interesting to see just how many routes will get the F cut.
Given that the volumes are huge, the competition is fierce and certainly F is not completely dead yet, this is far from a "QF of sorts" move.
This is going to have quite an impact on the Miles & More loyalty, what with HON soon to be tightened as the rules only allow the accumulation of HON Circle miles on J and F fares only. I would very much anticipate that LH are going to make F even more rare to redeem on other *A FFPs (although good luck on them trying to stop US/UA/AC members from trying to long sell or NN seats).
FYI TG fans A380 is now officially loaded for Tokyo and Frankfurt flights.
FRA as expected from 15th December on TG920/1...prior to now there was no availability showing but it's now showing as wide open in C & F on United so hopefully no SQ style bigging up of themselves!
