Anything yet Oneworldplus2??? Or maybe your not special enough??? :)

I thought when i received the email about "This exclusive offer just for you etc blah blah" I thought "Yeah me and the other several hundred thousand recipients", but maybe they are being selective?? :(

Anyway, while F would probably be nice, repositioning from Perth would add a bit onto it, not as quick and easy as from Melb to Syd and with LH restricting access to F till 3 weeks out not sure if I will ever do it, but will probably top up with these points...

Of course C is sufficient, but I would say yes, it is worth travelling to SYD instead for an F award.

An overnight in SYD would've been taking it just a bit too far.

Yes I agree the overnight in SYD isn't ideal but sometimes we have to make sacrifices :)

We were going to try and make a domestic connection off the 8pm arrival ex-BKK but decided to stay the night. Have a 10am DJ flight back the following morning, enough time to chill out get some breakfast and not drive home at a stupid hour!

Oh, I totally understand...but it would also have meant another days leave, leave that I don't have!

At least as I was travelling straight through from LHR there was F lounge access at BKK...and the service on the flight to MEL was great...no complaints really, but the nice extras of F wouldn't have gone amiss!

three sets of my friends (all couples)thought the same way as you... business is fine... who needs first class...

all of them, without fail, boarded the second flight to europe ex Bangkok, saw the first class seats and wished they were there!

I thought the same !! ZRH - BKK in business last year, next time plan to be First after checking it out. Seats look way more comfortable:)

Finally got around to getting organised for a Canada trip in the middle of the year. Am now routing through Europe (Frankfurt) on the way home to catch some of the Tour De France!

Have on hold:
Sydney - Seoul (Asiana) - Vancouver (Air Canada) Business
Vancouver - Frankfurt (Lufthansa) Business
Frankfurt - Bangkok - Sydney (Thai) First

150,000 points each, $250 each in taxes.

I figure Asiana probably not the best but everything else is pretty sweet.

not sure why you figure asiana is not the best? it offers one of THE best business classes out there. especially if you get lucky with the new full flats.

Yup, it's LH J I'd be less enthused about!

Thats good to hear, it was purely subjective ;) The initial research I did said not all had the fully flat beds (havent confirmed if my flight does), and the photos didnt look amazing but sounds quite promising.

Asiana Sydney - Seoul does not have flat beds but aren't these flights in the day anyway? I'm flying them too later this year but unlike you am looking forward to it immensely, research I have done very highly regards Asiana Business particularly for Service.

Agreed. OZ has fantastic service in general.

Interesting reply from US Airways, Oneworldplus2.

My +1 and I have purchased the same amount of miles on the same dates and only he got the targeted offer!

Oh, well, I'll still purchase some for him while our dollar is so good.

I didn't receive the latest email either...hoping a new promo begins shortly.

Also, is there a new link for the DM redemption PDF? My old link is no longer working...

Noticed on Flyertalk that there is mentioned a cap of 50K in miles that can be purchased per annum.

Anyone know if this is really/still the case?

Cheers

Where did you read this?

Have you looked on US Airways website?

I have never heard this is the case.

yea it was an old thread on flyertalk dated back to 2005 i think. I didn't think it still applied but couldn't find anywhere that said it didn't. I notice too the t&c's dont mention it either.

So all good ( I hope):-|

I bought 50k+50k bonus and 30k+30k bonus last year... no cap.

There is a 50k limit (exclusive of any bonus) PER TRANSACTION...that is all.
