US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

In fairness a lot of people think Air China's airline code is AC....

Well it was really my fault. I wasn't mad at the guy, he did explain all the legs to me. Its just I was driving and didn't have the flights in front of me. I'm just glad they changed the flights for me even after I'd paid and everything was ticketed! Very happy!

How would one go about getting from PER-DUB in December this year using USDM? Nothing appears on their website at all?

partner awards can't be booked via the USDM site - need to phone.

don't know your exact dates but there looks to be reasonable availability in December flying something like PER-BKK-IST-DUB (you can check availability on United.com and then phone USDM to book)

I would probably try for PER-SIN-IST-DUB (SQ TK TK) as there will still be a relationship there post March 31, and if there are changes you should still be OK, rather than potentially having to cancel and find new availability. Alternatively, PER-JNB-IST-DUB (SA TK TK) for the same reason. Availability PER-JNB and JNB-DUB is wide open for Dec.

no more business class availability with SQ unless booked 14 days out which isn't going to happen for a trip in december

and in december PER-BKK will be on TG's new 787 which you could potentially connect to FRA/MUC with first class suites (good availability)

if you go to JNB i can't see any good flights from JNB to DUB

edit* correction you could do JNB-ADD (ET 787) then ADD-FRA (LH A330 first class)

i'd rather go via BKK if travelling in F but each to their own

there is no LH F via USDM.

We will be travelling in J, but as my Fiancé is from Durban, going via JNB might actually be a winner. Cheers for your help guys! I need to start researching I think….. oh the horror, so much time…

The missus wanted to visit Taiwan this year, so I booked us a trip to Guam :)
I didn't tell her yet that our little trip includes circling Asia and spending 2 nights in paradise lost... I'm counting on the TG F flights to sweeten the deal ;)
SYD-BKK TG F (layover 24hr)
BKK-TPE BR J (stopover 4 nights)
TPE-KIX BR J
KIX-GUM UA J (destination 2 nights)
GUM-KIX UA J
KIX-TPE BR J
TPE-HKG BR J (layover 19hr)
HKG-BKK TG F
BKK-SYD TG F
Total 80,000 miles + $422.74 taxes.
On the 1st call, the US agent picked up on the TPE stopover and saved both of us a lot of Skype time.
On the 2nd call, the agent asked me: "are you going to have a stopover in TPE?". I said yes and was ready to HUACA but she wasn't too bothered by that and we continued. Her system crushed twice so it was a bit messy and by the time we finalised everything, I don't know if she forgot the original destination or knew what I'm up to, she said: "enjoy your trip to Taiwan" :)

Nice work! Was there no BR direct TPE-GUM-TPE available? Going via KIX each time is a bit of a pain.

I'm taking my better half to HKG for New Years and wanted to make it a Guam trip similar to what you have above but he specifically said 'i just want to go somewhere and stay there - I don't want to fly all around Asia just for the sake of it'. Fortunately my best mate is more than happy to fly all around Asia just for the sake of it (thats what best mates are for!) so I'm doing both.

The missus didn't mind all the flights but she was puzzled as to why we are flying *A when we have over 1M QFF points. I tried to explain the GUM deal but she just brushed me off and said I'm crazy :)

I question the sanity of hoarding over 1M QFF points given how much uncertainty there is over the future of QFi too. ;)
