Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

Trying to book Novovax for 4th shot. A pop up appears that ATAGI ”advises” this vaccine is for individuals who cannot have any other vaccine. Can I still go ahead and book it or will I be denied when I get there?View attachment 285114
Got my 5th dose about 3 weeks ago and chose Novavax (having gotten AstraZeneca, Pfizer and Moderna thus far). No issues when registering or getting the jab. And for those wondering why I chose that versus waiting for the bivalent or something else, I'd encourage you to look at studies of Novavax efficacy against Omicron variants: Novavax NVX-COV2373 triggers potent neutralization of Omicron sub-lineages

Is anyone allowed a 5th jab now?
Any age group?

Two days ago I got my booster. I had Pfizer so I have gone Astra - Astra - Moderna - Covid - Pfizer. Absolutely no reaction this time.

For what it’s worth, did you discuss these vaccine brand decisions with your doctor?

I find it somewhat fascinating that people would rather discuss brands like we’re taking about new 4x4s on online forums rather than obtain actual medical advise.

I’m going to Europe next week and would like to get the 5th shot but I don’t think it’s available to everyone just yet?

My GP recommended mixing vaccines for 3rd dose and 4th dose I was allowed to choose.

I've had Pfizer-Pfizer-Moderna-Moderna.

I was category 1(b) in the beginning so I assume I'm eligible for 5th dose but I had 4th dose in July so not sure I can have 5th dose before leaving for Thailand in 2 weeks.

I was told the bivalent Moderna has shown an increased risk of myocarditis relative to the initial Moderna jab.

I have gone Pfizer-Pfizer-Moderna. Still debating the merits of a 4th jab before overseas travel next month.

No not eligible yet unless severely immunocompromised which means similar to having active cancer as an example or taking some of the very powerful and specifically listed immunology drugs.

5th shot?!?!? wow :O

I have only had 3 shots so far and the MyDHR website for ACT tells me that I'm still NOT eligible for the 4th jab yet ... I guess something is incorrect? Has anyone faced this yet?

btw, 32 yo here ...

People over 30 are eligible for a fourth dose, unless you've had COVID or another COVID vaccine within the last 3 months.

Thanks for this. I'm not sure why the app won't let me schedule a jab ... let me call the helpline and organise one. thank you @dylarr

I called the National Covid 'hotline' to ask if there was any schedule or plan or info about 'seniors' with underlying health conditions being able to access a third booster, now or in the future.

Answer was no, but I guess the CC operator wouldn't know of future strategic plans.

Not hanging out for one, just curious

I was thinking, maybe we are done with four. Having had the infection and four vaccines well, I'm done.

Sure but ‘all’ vaccines have some sort of life span. The newer ones are more targeted so I’m looking to one before I head to Europe 6 months after my last one. But , 🤷‍♂️😊

I kind of figure we both had the Omicron as we caught it in the UK and likely Scotland where it was rampant.

Maybe this is appropriate here rather than Humour.

Warning signs that it's time to get professional help:
1- You've had the initial two jabs, and 8 extra boosters in the past year and a half.
2- You wear a mask when driving by yourself in the car, and standing outside in the parking lot...100 yards from the store....all alone...and the wind is blowing.
3- You study the CDC announcements daily, waiting in anticipation for the next, newest booster to come out.
4- You test yourself weekly 'just in case', and are actually upset when it comes back negative so you test yourself again 'just to be sure'.

Well, I do admit to wearing a 95 mask in the car whilst driving in Scotland with MrP. However in my defence he was positive at the time. I put my RATs in the 'never to be seen again' cupboard today, along with a pack of masks, and the oximeter.

I do check SA weekly statistics only because I don't trust our CHO not to come out with restrictions again as they are warning/modelling another wave in December (we seem to have lost our predicted October wave). But unlikely with change of Govt.
