Are you guys saying that if you get a Status Match in the lounge, you are given a temp card and tags. But it doesn't appear on your account?

Or that it is only valid inside Australia?
I would assume it will appear on the account once approved.

The Velocity people doing the matching would have first access to emails with the codes/number readily available. Since the Lounge match applications were manually written, it may take a little longer ot transcribe/evaluate/etc.

Nope, won't appear on your account until such a time as the match is actually processed. Noticed this from another AFF'ers Velocity account.

Oh, and congrats on your Platinum! :p

Ok, apologies if this has been answered, but I'm 20 points of achieving QFF Gold, and I'm flying Q in a weeks time. Should I status match now, or wait a week? (concerned obviously that the offer might dry up)

Apply straight away for your match and get Silver. If the offer is still open when you get Gold, you could then apply for a status match to Gold. I couldn't find anything in the conditions that precludes doing this.

I agree 100% with rsellens advice. You should be heading straight for a Lounge or the webpage -what are you still doing reading this?

That is what I am saying....

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone been matched from a non-QFF card yet? I reckon I had a red hot crack at being the very first person to apply for this via the website, but still no match for me

I matched via a Star Gold Asiana card...?

Cheers,
Jonno

Hi LiamR, that has been my experience so far.

I applied via email on the 25th, receiving the confirmation email back from Virgin.
On the 28th I physically went into the Melbourne DJ lounge, and "status matched" with my QF Gold card, and got the DJ temp Gold card with my DJ velocity number on it and a pair of swing tags. Went into the lounge as a freeloader.
On the 29th I went back into the Mel lounge, accessing with the temp card, again as a freeloader.
On the 1st Sep I actually flew DJ. Used temp card to access Sydney lounge.
BUT all this time my online status still says Member.... (I actually got an email from Virgin on the 31st with the status match as subject;l I got all excited, but it was just the same acknowledgement that I received on the 25th.... pffft).

Also, the temp card specifically states you'll get the full list of benefits once the real package arrives in the mail, and that, as you surmise, you only get the domestic benefits of priority lanes, security and lounges. The temp status is not on your boarding pass.

So, despite being able to gain entry etc to lounge, despite having a temp card, it would appear that you won't get any of the points bonuses for flying, which is a bit of a shame.

Kinda makes me more inclined to book my DJ flights only if I get successfully properly matched online.... Anybody got a different experience / view?

Agreed. I matched at Westfield and was issued with temporary cards and tags, but no official confirmation yet and the web site still says I'm just a basic member.

It's been nearly a week, so until I've officially been confirmed and got the real card, I'm holding my horses.

I have not been matched yet (Cathay MP Diamond which is Platinum equiv) but they did say up to 4 weeks, so be patient I guess. I though, like you have not heard of non QFF's but I am sure there are. QFF is very dominant on this website of course.

I applied by email on the day it was announced and received my "Welcome to Velocity Platinum Membership" email yesterday

Matched from QFF WP

...wondering if they are processing platinums first? Anyone got anything else matched yet?

I submitted my status match request via email on the first day (but in the evening) and it came through yesterday.

Have yet to receive the 'Welcome to Velocity Gold' email but logged into the website and the new status was showing.

And this was matched from which program to answer joakleigh's question?

So looking at the pattern, my guess is that most likely they will status match all applications with QFF status first, before matching all other. So unfortunately I (BD/AF Gold) would have to wait for a while.

Well I got matched with my Air France Flying Blue silver card in the BNE lounge this morning (still in there now) .

Two things that I noticed:
-the lounge desk thought it was only matvhing qantas. had to wait a little while they confirmed that my air france card was ok
- I thought silver membership was supposed to give you 2 lounge passes. My account only shows one (I didnt need to use a pass for this visit as I was on a premium economy ticket) Should I give Velocity a call?

Otherwise, very happy with the match and the lounge.

If people post "Yay, my match came through". For assistance to others, can you please add:

- Web or lounge/Westfield Pitt St match.
- Date (and rough time would be good) you requested the match.
- What other FF status you had.

Would help with many of the questions being raised.

[PS - My request at BNE lounge, ~6pm Friday last week (WP QF) has still not been processed. Hopefully it turns up today. Want it processed before my trip to SYD tomorrow. ]

I handed over my CX Marco Polo Diamond card in the SYD lounge on Saturday, they looked up a list and handed me back a temporary Velocity Platinum card and baggage tag (plus took a photocopy of my MCP Diamond, noted my Velocity number, etc). They said that the form is sent off to Velocity at the end of each day. My online status was showing as “Gold” all week (my previous level) until yesterday when it changed to Platinum.
