When things don't happen to our perceived (regardless of reality) timeline/service standard etc, human nature is to feel aggrieved as they haven't met our expectations. We all have egos and most of us like to think that we are their most important application to process.

We aren't to know what the reasons are behind the (apparent lack of) processing speed and we could speculate ad naseum (staffing & training, volume, etc). It is likely that they are working overtime and/or on weekend to meet the demand.

From the historical perpective of those that have had their applications completed, by far the largest percentage of them have been processed in 7 days (not working days). This is still within their stated 28 days.

Let's just all take a deep breath and those that haven't been processed yet, keep checking your inbox for the subject heading "Welcome to Velocity [Silver/Gold/Platinum] membership" from Velocity Frequent Flyer.

FWIW, my details are:

Looks like my card may well have been sent (yay).

Looks like Mr drewbles forgot to update his Velocity profile when he moved house some time ago and it was sent to the wrong address (boo).

The Platinum guys were great and are re-sending me one now (yay).

*bangs head for not re-addressing everything when moving house*

Some of us aren't in any particular hurry either. As long as it happens by the weekend of The Gathering

Re: Announcing our New Velocity Frequent Flyer Program

Princess Fiona, if you are likely to be at an airport (perhaps even a Westfield booth), then I would make the time to get the temporary card & luggage tags (plus excellent wire tie).

Alternatively, as alluded to above, keep the email and flash your QFF Plat card at check-in, citing you've been away overseas and the membership pack will be awaiting your return. You won't have been the first to have done that ;)

Thanks Lindsay, I think we'll try option two in MEL on the way back from our trip. We will be driving directly to SYD T1 next Friday and I doubt I can persuade Shrek to give up some F Lounge time to head over to to T2 ;)
Checked his account today and still showing member ( from 27th August) patience is a virtue I am sadly lacking

Although I didn't apply for a status match and only earned it a week ago.... I'm walking particularly fast to the mailbox now. Fingers crossed!

Yes, and this isnt going to get any better with our instant access (and therefore expectation of instant access) to everything. In the days of snail mail, you would wait 2 -3 weeks from sending a letter to getting some kind of acknowledgement (not necessarily a proper reply) before getting antsy. Then along came faxes and the time wait decreased to a few days. Now, with emails, we basically expect a response that day. Instant gratification.

I think I suffer from that age old affliction 'patience non-existo-itis'

What was the time frame experienced by those who have received confirmation?

Mate my time line was 04:53am 27 Aug. Got an auto responder reply 04:54am 27 Aug but nothing else.

All good things come to those that wait, so maybe just chill a bit. ;) VA will deliver. I expect they received a much stronger acceptance than they ever expected.
