Thanks all, matched at the Westfield Kiosk. Looking forward to checking out the VA lounge next Friday.

Sorry if it's been asked already. I applied very early but still haven't had my application processed. I scanned my qantas card as a PDF. Im wondering if that's an issue. Did anyone scan theirs as a PDF and have had their status matched approved already?
Yes. :cool:

I hope that helps.

I'm pretty sure the ad said a scanned card or statement would be ok. I hope that's the case - I'm waiting on a replacement card from Qantas so I scanned and sent my statement.

Hmmm, going to be crowded in the DJ lounges methinks.

I was in Sydney Domestic VA lounge early August and it was almost empty, so this is a good way to source new lounge users.

PS They were turning away Priority Pass users by then.

Currently sitting in the BNE DJ lounge using the very reliable wifi - thanks Virgin :)

Andrew at the Lounge saw me checking in with my temp Plat card and asked me how I was finding the status match.

Kindly informed him that I was very happy with my most recent DJ flights (and the status match) and that I will be booking DJ for my next flight booking (nov 30 perhaps ;))

He asked me how I plan to use my 4 complimentary upgrades..... I replied that I'm not going to waste them on old PE from CNS. He seemed very optimistic that the new aircraft will be operating before the end of the year :)

The effort is not going unnoticed VA :)

General update. Mrs Maninblack got her status match last night but still nothing for me and my application went in about 30 hours before hers:confused: Just not feeling that love.

Gotta love those good old fashioned DJ values ... Ladies before Gentlemen! :p

Ohh damn. Was Andrew in the lounge? I was flying out earlier today on QF and was meant to go see him.

Yep, same here - sent pdf of my activity statement, status match approved sometime tonight - velocity gold :D

First flight Tuesday SYD-CBR, looking forward to trying out kerbside lounge access!

Not always. See my post #559.

Oh no! I do hope that has since been resolved! Perhaps that day they were using the age before beauty assessment method! :p

Mind you I need to be careful as that assessment would see the woman's approved first in my house!

Maybe there is no science after all! :(

Okay booked my first VA flight since being match SG for a MEL BRI flight. Assuming status will be on boarding pass since I don't have the welcome kit yet.

Any suggestions for using the benefits in Mel for the first time ie check area and lounge and seat selection?

Again - very nice things to say about VA.

1/ Lounge interaction with Andrew (already mentioned above);

2/ Gate agent (after lengthy delays out of BNE last night) - sincere personal apology for the delay (after seeing BP);

3/ FA on aircraft - welcome back - and sincere apology for the delay.

Basically - in line with the same nice treatment from QF (when QF decide to do it).

Nice to see VA make an effort.

Sometimes it's the little things that can make such a big difference. :)

But how was the priority queue? ;)

But how was the priority queue? ;)

Was perfect - but given the delay - the walk across the tarmac, my seat in 3C, I was happier to just let 75% of the pax board first for this little E90 flight and I just joined the normal queue with 3 people in front.

Whilst a priority queue afficionado - in this instance I withheld the "W" in the WP for another time ;)

PS. For the record, priority line was in place, elites were called first, and elites were invited to board at anytime using the priority line.
So it was my option should I have chosen to use it :)

Yes your status is on the boarding pass. Can't help you with MEL. It's a place I avoid at all costs.
