I got email acknowledgement on the 2nd Sept and recieved an email advising of succesful status match today (15th Sept) - so around a 13 day turnaround for status match for silver for me, nothing in the mail yet but pretty happy...

Yes, about a week after the email advising the match. I contacted them about getting luggage tags and they said they would follow in about 3 weeks. Hubby got his gold card and tags a couple of days ago.

In terms of prioritisation, we do prioritise based on both tier and date.

This doesn't seem to be happening. I applied for a Gold status match on August 25 with no response other than the automated email. I emailed VA asking if there was any progress with my application but no response. I needed to book overseas travel today and reluctantly booked QF for the lounge and extra luggage allowance. I was looking forward to flying VA.

I applied on the 26th August. I think it was only upgraded yesterday to Gold so I guess it can take this long. I was thinking it'd never happen as well.

I lodged on 25th 12:14pm. Existing member matching from overseas program (AAdvantage and Asiana).

Still nothing yet. I did get the "Velocity Status Match Promotion" confirmation e-mail. Account status still says Member. 21 days (i.e. 3 weeks) and counting.

Although on Sunday a flight from SYD-CBR tipped me over to Platinum. So on Monday afternoon as soon as I saw the SC had posted I submitted an updated request with a screenshot of my Summary page.

While I am routinely criticised by HWMBO for being impatient I realise that the updated application will have reset the clock and hopefully a screenshot done on and emailed from an iPad2 will be received by them okay.

The original QF WP packs were far more attractive than the current ones. Gotta say it's much of a muchness, the QF ones were very pretty (the solid fold-out book type with a paper band holding it together). The DJ card is hot though. Who doesn't love purple

I sent my email off Monday for WP status match and just checked tonight, Friday.

I am now Virgin Platinum!

That didn't take long at all.

The offer is still there but looks different. Now looks like a credit card match & transfer of points, but if you click on it, will open in the status match page.

Sniff. I recieved a nice shiney new card in plain packaging. Actually just an envelope. And the colour is ..... red.
Will wait a couple of days in case I got signed up for Velocity in a seperate transaction to the status match, so may end up with 2 cards of different colour.
