Looks like some of the more popular retailers (e.g. apple, ebay etc) are down to $1 = 1 point. I always thought it was $1 = 2 points? :(

Looks like you are right. eBay was 4 points per $1 during the double promotion.

A shame the promotion has come to an end, but there will be something else one day...

Double points promos seem to be the lubricant before the new earn schedule is rammed home...
 

Be careful on this promotion where it says earn double point on all purchases as it does not apply to all purchases.

Two recent Dick Smith purchases are not showing as pending in 'My eStore'.

When should I start contacting Velocity to chase this - 2 weeks? More ?

Your purchase should show up in "pending" within 24 hours. Points will take at least 30 days.

A query to Velocity now would be a prudent move

I've had different stores on the portal show as pending in different time zones.

I've also never had one not post. Some have taken weeks to show as pending, others are within 24 hours. Crediting is a whole other wait.

Patience is the order of the day with the portal. Think of it as bonus points for nothing (or you could look at cashback sites which can offer better value than just frequent flyer miles).

I have had the same experience and agree that patience is the way to go. I was just quoting from the Velocity site which states that your purchases should show in pending within 24 hours.

I have also had a couple of purchases which have taken months to credit.
 
Last 5 purchases haven't shown up as "pending" at all, after 2-3 months. Finally chased them up for it and they credited me the points. I normally get an email 1-2 days after purchase confirming that they've recorded a purchase through the estore and points will be credited but that hasn't happened last 5 purchases.

Anyone else been having issues like this recently?

My experience with the Velocity estore bonus points has always been positive. Usually use ebay, wiggle or menulog and have got the confirmation email within about 48 hours and the points a few weeks later.

Made an ebay purchase on Sunday and got email the Monday saying bonus points were pending. Just logged on to Velocity and it is listed there as a pending transaction.

One tip is not to use incognito mode in Chrome. I think i did this once and it didnt register the points. That's my fault. Make sure your browser accepts cookies and if you are logging on behind some Fort Knox like firewall then you might have issues.

Overall i reckon it works well and you can amass a fair amount of bonus points on top of what you would already get for using your credit card, especially when they run promotions leading up to Christmas where some places were giving 4 points per dollar.

I've just realised I havent been given my Kogan points for my smartphone purchase. It should have been about 3,500 points. Any advice? I assume if I contact Velocity they'll just accuse me of not going through the correct portal despite the fact I've made literally hundreds of purchases through the portal previously.

I could take this to the Airline Customer Advocate and have it resolved in a day but I dont want to waste their time and resources for something fairly small.

I would try through Virgin first at least, to see what they say.

I find the eBay portal the most reliable and that get's a hammering from me.

It took me well over five months to get a Surfstich transaction (4 points per $ -- I spent over $300) credited to my account lol

Just got off phone to Velocity and I am so unhappy with their response to my issue. As a big time user of the site, I know very well how it works and have had very few problems with purchases tracking. Unfortunately I now have 14 transactions from 4 different retailers which are showing as approved and I have received the emails stating as such and that points will be in my account within next 24 hours, but this hasn't happened despite waiting over a week. Velocity admit it is some type of breakdown in their system, but I received the following email outlining the procedure for them to claim my "APPROVED" points and the supervisor I spoke to was adamant this was necessary.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for the delay in crediting your Points. All claims must be verified and approved by the Partner prior to them permitting us to credit them to your account.

italianlover this happens to me a lot and I always get it fixed very easily. I have sent you a PM on who to contact. You will be surprised with the response and swiftness.
 
I too have gotten the "approved and points will appear within 24 hours" emails almost four days ago now and nothing has appeared on my account.

Mind you these were missing points (400 points) from a shop back in November.
 
Has anyone had issues with Microsoft? I placed an order last week and didn't receive an email to indicate that the points will be pending. I've used the online mall with plenty of other retailers and always received the confirmation of pending points approx. 24 hours later.
