Velocity Shop and (NOT) earn

Well I never tracked the Domino's 25 points, I just ordered online and let them come though, but the orders last night I will be chasing up as combined they are 10,000 points.

Now both the transactions went on my credit card straight away (as you would assume with an on-line purchase) as American Express SMS/Emailed me within 5 seconds of both order being placed as they thought they MAY be fraudulent, as I hadn't used this card for this type of on-line shopping before.

So the transaction date on my credit card will be 28/29/30th of June BEFORE the cut-off.

So fingers crossed the points arrive without any chasing up

If I've not received any email, nor transactions in the "pending" screen (either in Velocity itself or from shopandearn.com.au) - who's the best place to query? I have a shade under 10,000 points that I should be earning from two recent transactions - one was switchwise and the other appliancesonline.

Do I yell at the retailer, at Virgin, or at "shopandearn"?

Not fussed about them taking a while to clear, but want to make sure I sneak in under the double points deal!

Hi pythonisman, if you have any queries regarding your Global eStore claim please contact the Velocity Memberships Contact Centre on 13 18 75. In this instance, please PM us your details and we’ll have the team look into this for you. We'll need your Velocity Membership ID, Date, Amount and Order Number for each transaction. Thanks

I spent $500 with Zanui which is offering 14 points per $1, a lazy 7000 points coming my way

At a 4.5% return that's a nice $315 load of points

I did an order on Sat and no email as yet. Hope I wont have to chase them up. Got a few birthday and Christmas presents on the cheap. The 14 points per $ was a tasty bonus :D

Priority Club use the same system and they are worse, I have pending points from Aug still pending.

The Delta's Asia shopping portal uses the same system as well, although they are a tiny bit quicker than the Virgin one. At any rate, 6 months seems to be about the average length of time between transaction and it actually posting to any of the accounts.

Why it takes this long I have no idea. Delta's US shopping portal posts within 3-4 days of the actual transaction, not sure why Virgin, Priority Club and Delta Asia need an extra half a year!

Wow - Received the "thanks for your purchase" email from Velocity 24 hours after my purchase!

Now just waiting on my points

Impressed so far :)

Just gotta say WOW Zanui

Bought june 30th, points recognised July 3, transferred 11th

has to be a record

I had read so many bad experiences with "Shop and NOT earn" that I was never going to use them.
I wanted to buy an Apple laptop before the end of June and noticed the bonus points offer with shopandearn (4 for 1), so checked this thread and read what was then the latest comments by danoleary55 on his experience and comments about a system upgrade.
I went ahead with the purchase and received the laptop before the "your points are now pending" email arrived!

Has anyone had recent experience with the posting of points after purchasing from Apple via shopandearn?
(for some reason was hoping they would be as efficient as their delivery system, and more so than Zanui ;)

From what I understand from my situation, and speaking with the Velocity team, if you didn't get that email you're basically SOL when it comes to points later. I'm due nearly 10k points and the 'offer' was to give me 2, which I said I wasn't happy with, and asked them to go back and try again.
Not holding my breath...

I had around 7k points overdue from the S&E portal, and the only way I was able to receive them was to send a PM to VFF, list every transaction again including invoice numbers and totals, and I mentioned that I refused to travel on VA (including all partners and codeshares) until such time as they got their act together. Even after that threat (which I sent in Feb after not flying since November, and as a Gold FF), it still took them until the end of April to award the last of the points (which were a year overdue). In the meantime, I needed to travel extensively, so much so that it took me from Qantas Bronze to Platinum in only a few months... shame for them that the missed out on >$10k in revenue, but I'm not complaining - I now have F lounge access ;)

To their credit, they did eventually send me a short email to say that the points had now been transferred, and I have flown with them once since... I've got another flight booked with them in a couple of weeks (booked mostly due to the 'Fly Ahead' benefit), so I'll see how their service is then in comparison to QF :)

I do wonder what is wrong with the system.

I do sorta put S&E in the same basket as a free breakfast at a lot of hotels - why do you bother?? If you are going to offer the service then do it properly. If you can afford to offer it for free then charge for it. Offering service that doesn't work and annoys your customers repeatedly really only serves to make you look bad.

Update

Purchased 2 lots of goods on the 28th of June

Received the "thanks for your purchase email from Velocity 24 hours after purchase"

10th of July - First batch of points arrived :)

Now waiting for the other transaction!

Impressed so far...

I think I have a record here!?!

Booktopia June 5 purchase 2011..... Wait for it.... July 12 2012 posted!!!!
Chase ups: 2 (then gave up)

Do I win??

I had the same problem with apple when I purchased macbook air, back last October. It was 4 points per $ spent and I had to PM Virgin rep to get it sorted. Never got the pending points email or had pending points online. Have you checked to see if the points are pending online though? I have purchased before and not got the email but the points were pending anyway.
