Velocity to partner with 7-Eleven

Won't help me retire early but its always good entertainment value seeing if the cashier reacted. He didn't:p

That must be some sorta record.......I was very happy with myself with a $24 saving not long ago & yeah the attendant did notice & said well done, & even told me where to go for cheaper fuel to lockin!

Failed to get to the bowser today for the triple points.

Triple points today?
That would be even more entertaining. But no
It was a few days ago when the U91 price dropped significantly to 168.9 at a certain 7-11.
It did require me to venture out at 2300 hrs

The other side benefit of F-L is that you don’t have to go to the actual el cheapo servo, therefore there will never be queues.

Can I just ask, in case I'm using the lockin wrong, doesn't the app find the cheapest in your area for you?
Only from within the area reported by the GPS function in your phone.

So for example, right now, as of this moment, the cheapest E10 available from any 7 11 in Australia is Ingleburn at 177.9.

7 11 IN Braddon Canberra is currently 199.9.

If the GPS in your phone tells the app that you are in Braddon, then you pay 199.9; but if your phone tells the app that you are in Ingleburn, then you pay 177.9.

I will leave it at that. 😁

spot on. I'll have to investigate more of what I think your hinting at.

I use the app while I drive anywhere, generally in the cheaper suburbs off the main roads I find to have cheaper fuel.
The 7eleven lady just told me where in her opinion/knowledge the cheaper fuel is, but it's the old case how willing are to you drive further from your home to lockin or even buy cheaper fuel.

You can Google "Ozbargain 7-11 chopper" for a wealth of info on this. Personally I don't partake because I don't drive enough for it to be worth the hassle, but I can see how some are saving thousands per year...

I dont drive enough to be worth the hassle either but for those that do there is an app in NSW called NSW Fuel check. I think it is a state government one which has the price at every petrol station in the state.

Yes, but I think you are completely missing the point here, which is to lock in the price from somewhere which maybe far away from you ...

Thanks @sudoer. There's all that's needed there. I too probably don't drive enough for it to be worth the bother regularly.

But to ruin @Chicken's (user name checks out) game of crumbing info, the hack involves tricking your phones GPS to be where the cheap fuel is. There's a few different ways - this one seems relatively easy. Maybe a bit of planning required too before you head to the servo.

Easy to add the app to the smartphone, and add the details as needed.
Never did the app before.
Even though there are no 7-elevens in South Australia, when I do go interstate, its there, waiting.
