That must be some sorta record.......I was very happy with myself with a $24 saving not long ago & yeah the attendant did notice & said well done, & even told me where to go for cheaper fuel to lockin!Won't help me retire early but its always good entertainment value seeing if the cashier reacted. He didn't

I only got double points (47 points) when buying Krispy Kreme doughnuts from a city 7-eleven store. They were $11.50Triple points today?

Can I just ask, in case I'm using the lockin wrong, doesn't the app find the cheapest in your area for you?... even told me where to go for cheaper fuel to lockin!...
Only from within the area reported by the GPS function in your phone. Can I just ask, in case I'm using the lockin wrong, doesn't the app find the cheapest in your area for you?
spot on. I'll have to investigate more of what I think your hinting at.Only from within the area reported by the GPS function in your phone.
So for example, right now, as of this moment, the cheapest E10 available from any 7 11 in Australia is Ingleburn at 177.9.
7 11 IN Braddon Canberra is currently 199.9.
If the GPS in your phone tells the app that you are in Braddon, then you pay 199.9; but if your phone tells the app that you are in Ingleburn, then you pay 177.9.
I will leave it at that.
I use the app while I drive anywhere, generally in the cheaper suburbs off the main roads I find to have cheaper fuel. Can I just ask, in case I'm using the lockin wrong, doesn't the app find the cheapest in your area for you?
Yes, but I think you are completely missing the point here, which is to lock in the price from somewhere which maybe far away from you ...I dont drive enough to be worth the hassle either but for those that do there is an app in NSW called NSW Fuel check. I think it is a state government one which has the price at every petrol station in the state.
Thanks @sudoer. There's all that's needed there. I too probably don't drive enough for it to be worth the bother regularly. You can Google "Ozbargain 7-11 chopper" for a wealth of info on this. Personally I don't partake because I don't drive enough for it to be worth the hassle, but I can see how some are saving thousands per year...
