Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

I just did a family transfer to top up an account to have enough points for a reward booking. When I look through the velocityrewards.com.au, the new points balance is there and is correct.
When I then go to Search and Book flights, i get taken to another website (fly.virginaustralia.com) where I have to Log In for a second time, and it shows the old points balance as of 6 days ago. Has anyone else experienced this ? How long before the two systems synchronize ?

I've noticed this too, calling up the call center they can see the correct points balance and they don't know why they are not in sync, apparently I.T are looking into it...

When I search for flights, the departing flight options are always sorted by time (ie earliest to latest) and the return flight options are always sorted by price (ie cheapest to most expensive). I'm using an iPad and cookies have been cleared countless times. Is there a logical reason for this? I know there's an option to reorder results after the initial search, but this default setting is driving me nuts. Anyone else have this problem?

I've noticed the return flight always seems to show the pm flights first (before the am flights) which is different to the departing flights which have am first. I'm not sure if it's just me, or if there's logic there some where.

Just booked some Virgin flights. Geez this is one shifty site. If I didn't delete the cookies, it would have tried to charge me double.

Ok, this current problem is completely un-believable. I'm trying to search for cash money fares for ADL-SYD in June. Apparently, fares on this route are only available as points plus pay. WTF! Isn't points plus pay a cash fare converted into points? This is the error that I keep getting.
  • The route you have selected can only be booked using Velocity Points or Velocity Points + Pay with Velocity’s airline partners.
Please select Points+Pay to book this route.

This is with chrome. I haven't tried clearing cookies or a different browser. I just had to share this first.

I just tried a dummy booking ADL-SYD 10 June and no problem using chrome..

Do you just search VA site or go via Velocity to search ? I have had problems before logging into VFF site first and searching but going to VA site and searching is no problem

That's on the VA site, not logged in.
Getting the same in IE8.

Working in Safari - must be a work computer problem.

I get that issue occasionally too, seems to be cookie related (and that's nothing to do with the meals thread!)

I did clear the cookies and still had it last night. There was pending updates with related restart on the work computer, which happened overnight. Now working fine this morning.

Still amongst the worst in the industry, had the displeasure of using it several times this week. This is their commercial interface with the world. Makes you wonder about the quality of the management.

My current gripe is around searching for reward bookings and upgrades:

Given the promotion around using points for upgrades, why on earth can I not make a booking and upgrade in one step?
What use precisely is showing me a selection of dates that are often unable to be selected (for some reason) or plenty that do not have any reward seats on offer?
On occasion, the incredibly helpful message "bookings for other dates are available" will be displayed. Is there some reason for not displaying said dates?

Double charged for a reward booking. Tired the first time, came up with an error. Second time processed the ticket fine, but still ended up with two bookings. Call centre were excellent in rectifying the situation however.

The lack of detail about sector lengths and consequent quick calculation of points that will be debited continues to amaze me.

I agree: the Velocity website is very poor. What is concerning is that few improvements ever seem to occur.

Getting the same message...unbelievable, hope they haven't deleted my account or anything

Yup, broked. Maybe they're running a fix for the 15% bonus not posting or other unscheduled maintenance.
