Dont be so critical, its only been 4 years. You know these things take time - hahaha

Absolutely, watching the J cabin crew fumbling around on a couple of flights this week I can see that VA accept a very slow learning curve. Fortunately for them they only have one modest competitor who have managed to turn their very functional website in an almost dysfunctional one.

I was getting the same messages, but apparently the entire I.T network has been having troubles today, delaying flights (Including mine) - Or is that also part of the weekly maintenance, throwing Sunday Afternoon/Evening flights out of wack with the website?

Made several award bookings on VA recently and noticed this (probably mentioned in this thread, given its at 63 pages) but ...

Here is my experience with trying to book an award flight tonight using Safari.

After I selected my flight on the booking page, I ran into my trouble when I clicked on the 'Login' button for my VFF account and nothing happened. It only worked after I reloaded the page. Then I ran into my second problem after I have logged in and clicked on 'Continue', a blank page shown up. Tried to reload the page and nothing happened.

Needless to say I am less than impressed.  Even TT had a better functioning booking system than VA...

I'm not sure what the issue is but I can't use the VA or Velocity websites at all with Chrome at the moment...just always getting:

[h=1]Request Entity Too Large[/h]The requested resource
/core/core/
does not allow request data with GET requests, or the amount of data provided in the request exceeds the capacity limit.

So I used IE instead and got to the payment page for award flights where it refused to let me pay. The joys!

Still amongst the worst in the industry, had the displeasure of using it several times this week. This is their commercial interface with the world. Makes you wonder about the quality of the management.

All I can say is that hopefully the IT team that VA have aren't allowed anywhere near the crew or the actual aircraft that VA operate.

I think I had to log on three times yesterday in the course of trying to search for a reward filght, and still didnt have success in finding what I wanted.

Do they realise how bad it is?
I keep trying to book a MEL-ADL-MEL flight and when I choose my flights and submit, it keeps coming up as an error.
I will try again in 10 minutes, and if it's still doing it, off to QF I go.
Absolute shambles.

I was trying to book some flights last week. Talk about painfull.
Not only did I have to log in more than once but just as I got to the final stages my booking "vanished' so had to start all over again including another log in.
I think VA like the rinse and repeat cycle.

I have a flight later today SYD-MEL in J then MEL-HBA in whY, and I bought an exit row seat.

Tried to check in on line. Got error message saying there was an outstanding charge to be paid and I cannot check in until this is paid. Call guest services.

So I did and there was NOT any outstanding charge, as I knew. Agent told me that the reason I couldn't check in on line was that I had selected an exit row ( which they acknowledged was paid for).

Was this message so difficult for IT to program in, rather than telling me I owed money?

I find that it's best to login before searching for award bookings. Never had difficulty doing this. I'm not sure TT is a good comparison since they don't do award flights, afaik.

The analogy with TT was done in jest and naturally the two are not comparable.

My gripe is that it should be not be hard to search for a reward flight on the website, login to my VFF account, then continue with my booking.

Trying to login to Velocity and getting "Failed to retrieve the member profile information. "

Sigh.

Trying to book SYD-PQQ for 18 October.

VA site shows $71.58 up and $111.45 back x 2 pax = $366.06 yet the page adds up to $428.00

I have entered no discount code. The day before ( 17 October ) shows $85 and $129 x 2 = $428.00

I know in the past it has been discussed about a few dollars different but has anyone else had this ?

I just fed those dates and flights in SYD-PQQ 2 pax return on 18th Oct and also got a total of $428.00 !

So its not just you.

It frustrates me.. Same applies to the 25th it appears... It cannot be this hard
