Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

Ugh!!!! Online checkin via VFF credentials? Fail.

Multiple tabs and popup windows. Multiple requests to enter VFF number. Eventual error message. Ultimately, (after muttering unfit to print curses under my breath) I waded back to the home page and was able to check in via PNR (which I had to look up by logging on again to my VFF account).

Seriously Virgin? I was recently gold status matched so this upcoming flight was going to be a trial with an open mind to see if I might direct travel away from Qantas to Virgin. Based on how frustrating it was just to check in for my flight, I think the new VFF status will quickly wither back to red.

anyone having issues today? It keeps saying

We are sorry, but we are unable to complete your request at this time, please try again later.

getting the same message, glads it's not just me. i can access my bookings but nothing else.

I tried to change some flights online and was told to contact customer service as my request couldn't be processed.

Phoned Cust Service and was told as Im using the help desk, it will cost $60pp to make changes but I can do it online for free plus any fare change.

Explained the message, offered to send them a screen dump of it and change fee waived.

That's my SOP for rebooking/altering or doing anything that the VA/Velocity web site cannot do as well. I have a collection of VA web site error message screen dumps on my desktop as a handy reference.

When will international multi city be available ?
I'd really like seeing VA putting a concerted effort into increasing the available international partner carriers that can be seen and booked on the website, including reward redemptions. I despise having to ring the offshore call centre to try and get sense out of them. I think every time I've had to do it, I end the call with a desire to poke toothpicks in my eyeballs to dull the pain of the interaction with VAs off shore call centre.

I've been trying to do a points booking for the past two days. When I get to selecting flights all I get is a blank screen. Refresh - nothing, go back and try again - nothing. As no one on here has reported problems I assumed it was a browser issue - I restarted Chrome but it still acted up. I had to download Firefox (haven't used that in years) and it worked so it is some issue on my computer I guess? Firefox was as shaky as heck though and kept getting unresponsive scripts etc. Finally managed to do booking.

But I'm not having problems on any other websites with Chrome. It makes me wonder.

Had this many times before. I assumed it was a caching thing in my own browser, so trying it in a private/incognito window usually does the trick.

Its very untidy on my IE11 browser at the moment, see below, but for your info Warks it does appear to be working OK for Internet Explorer users anyway. I tried logging in with my Velocity details and after quite a while it did come up with a similar screen as seen below.

Thanks. I haven't tried again since but did a Chrome update and that didn't help. Firefox worked as I said.

I should download Windows 10... the nagging... it never ends.

I cant use IE for Virgin bookings and have been using Chrome but yesterday I tried to upgrade with points and got all the way through and then *error-contact service desk* so phoned, spoke to a pleasant chap who processed the upgrade.

When I said the website is well known to suck he was apologetic but I told him it wasn't his responsibility and he seemed relieved I wasn't going to be snarky about having to phone.

I've had to abandon Chrome for Velocity and VA...over and over again I see momentarily complaints of a redirect loop then sorry a 'temporary' (yeah, right!) error has occurred. Although today I went to IE and filled in origin and destination and it wouldn't let me submit the search form because I hadn't filled in the destination...you know, that field that says Nadi (NAN) in it right now!

That is so annoying! A bloody machine calling us liers! It's happened to me, but to be honest, I could not honestly swear it was on the VA site!

The VA and Velocity websites need a major over-haul/refresh. I am sick to death of having to call up every time my work books flights with VA to add my velocity number. It seems to never let me do it online prior to or after travel. Always comes up with an "Error has occurred please contact our helpdesk for assistance with this booking". I laugh when they advise me every time I call "Do you know you can do this online?"

My favourite "feature" lately has been flights which are available to book on the mobile version of the site but can't be found when logging in from a desktop. Found the available SYD-AUH-FRA flight I wanted (Y+ on the SYD-AUH leg) on mobile no problem, but nothing was available on the regular site.

Here we go again...just quality!

Do they actually realise they have the worst website on the planet?
I've been trying to book since yesterday and when I get halfway through I get this:

Temporary Error

We experienced a temporary error, please try again. If the error persists, please contact our Guest Contact Centre to complete the booking for you. #00193
