Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

If you haven't done already put a complaint in about the PER-SYD aircraft downgrade you'll be given points as compensation (30k I believe).

Really? Didn't know that was an option. Do you just go through the normal feedback channel on the VA website?

I was booking a redemption for a niece and yes the web site is still clunky. I had to re-enter the first flight after I booked the return.

In the past I have just phoned Velocity

Thanks, I'll contact them - I know it's a First World problem, but it was just one more annoyance on top of the seemingly neverending issues with this booking. I've been planning and looking forward to this holiday for so long, and desperately need the time away after all the stress and emotion surrounding Mum's sudden death 6 months ago, and now I'm dreading every time an email from VA or DL lobs into my inbox.

Is anyone else getting this issue when attempting to make a booking via the Velocity site:

HTTP Status 401 - Authentication Failed: Auth outcome: FAILED

type Status report

message Authentication Failed: Auth outcome: FAILED

description This request requires HTTP authentication.

Apache Tomcat/8.0.28

Attempted with a number of different Browsers, all get the same problem!

Every time I log in I get this, always have to go back a page and then go to the home page which then shows me as logged in.

I have a trip coming up that involves domestic Australian and international flights to the US and back, with internal US flights via Delta all on the one reservation. A change had to be made to my Delta flights, yet months later Velocity (when it's not telling me my membership number is wrong) shows two separate reservations, neither of which have the correct flights. I've been in communication with them and they eventually confirmed that my account had to be updated (after swearing that their records were right - it had me in two cities at the same time!). Another month later, the flights haven't been updated in the Velocity website and when trying my booking reference on the Virgin website I either end up with a blank itinerary or an error message.

EDIT - the Velocity website booking has been amended, but incorrectly, so flights are missing, and seating and baggage details are incorrect.

The actual Virgin website still has nothing in my bookings.

Velocity's Website

Has there ever been any indication that velocity will update their website.... It looks like the 2006 facebook, Does the IT department even have a budget?

Uh, yes. I noticed recently that "single sign on" was finally working across their many parts of velocity... still opens new windows/tab but SSO was an improvement. Or do you mean the mobile site, or app ?

Re: Velocity's Website

Looks like there was a minor cosmetic update today? I'm now getting served a purple rather than a red design that has a Windows Metro style design. Also sign on appears to be working now and I'm not having login again and again and again every time I move between Virgin and Velocity websites.

Re: Velocity's Website

I met a former Velocity employee at a bar last week in Sydney. He told me that it's something everyone is aware of but management don't see it as a priority.

Yes why would you bother fixing the main first point of contact between passengers and the airline? You don't want to give a good first impression do you?

Re: Velocity's Website

seems they add a few things just as I complain... Still not on par with Qantas and I think they should match the new cosmetic update to status not purple for everyone

Re: Velocity's Website

As a web designer, the stark difference between Virgin Australia Velocity and Virgin America Elevate sites makes me want to scream. (I know they're only related by name, but still, there's no excuse for that Velocity site in its current state.)

Re: Velocity's Website

It's good to see Virgin investing (at least) some resources into improving the Velocity website. Whilst only cosmetic, I do like the changes.

The biggest problem with the Virgin/Velocity online offering is the complete lack of integration between the Virgin website and the Velocity website. Qantas just absolutely nails it and it really improves the booking experience. Virgin doesn't even tell you how many status credits or points you'd get for a booking... I mean that is a really basic feature that should exist. Upcoming bookings should also show on the Virgin website and not just the Velocity site.

In addition, the Virgin app isn't optimised for the iPhone 6/6s/7 screen size, so looks terrible on any iPhone sold after 2014. Yes that's right, the iPhone 6 came out in 2014 and Virgin's app doesn't even support it.

It's such a stark difference in experience between a company like Qantas that is investing heavily in IT vs Virgin who seems to be doing the absolute minimum to keep their 1999 website ticking along.

Re: Velocity's Website

I think there will be precisely $0 for bells and whistles until they announce a fat profit to shareholders for the current financial year.

VX is fairly similar to QF with integration of Elevate into the main website I wish Virgin integrate it all into one website

The app looks fine on my iPhone 7 although and iPad version would be nice
