Trying to book flights for Friday.

Chrome and IE keep kicking me back to the selection page

Tried Firefox and I get "HTTP Status 404 Authentication Failed" error.

Deleted cookies, browsing history and rebooted and now Im not even getting the error message but it keeps looping back to the date selection page on all three

I guess VA doesnt want me to fly on Oct 7th.. well, not with them.

I've been having similar issues - mostly 405 browser errors and POST not permitted...

I have found that if I persevere I can get there - perhaps this is an issue localised to specific load balancers / web servers....

Having the same problem trying to search for a reward seat through Velocity.

Sigh.

I'm now getting the flight results page in miniature! Yes the browser zoom is at 100%. All pages look normal until I get to the results page. It only seems to occup the centre 33% of the screen.

I was getting a 405 error or a redirection back to the front booking page this morning when trying to make a PAID booking for my wife! What a pack of clowns.

Also getting this error, plus its giving me random destinations totally different to what I've selected.

If only it could give me a cheap rate...

This a cough , virgin has lost the plot. I'm getting the 401 error msg.
Ive tried four times so I just went and booked a qantas business class to LAX . It was simple and easy, Virgin you are losing me with this rubbish .

I'm surprised you found booking the QF flight easy.

Not because of the user interface, but because you found a seat! (Unless you mean you booked a cash seat)

total price missing from website

Searching for flights online but noticed the total price payable is no longer displayed - just the sub total with fees/charges underneath. I can certainly add it myself, but thought perhaps there is a glitch with the online system?

Re: total price missing from website

I notice the default setting still has us choosing to insure our flights. I thought that was supposed to be changed to "opt-in" some time ago.

I noticed that too last week, that really annoys me. might send some feedback cause I'm sure it used to be opt out.

Didn't VA get into some consumer affairs hot water for this previously?

Re: total price missing from website

Another one to throw on the pile: tried checking in via the VA website for my upcoming SYD-LAX flight. "No booking found"... It said I didn't have my Velocity number on the booking most probably. I go into "My bookings" and there it is. I click on the booking number and as soon as I click on "web check-in" it pulls up a blank "My booking details" screen with an option to log-in (again!) I duly log in and it says "you have no upcoming trips"!!! I then go back and get my reservation number, put it in and it says "Online check-in is not available for your booking. Please proceed to the airport to complete check-in." @#$%^!

The only unreasonable reason I can think of for all this pathetic rubbish is that I originally booked this flight through Delta as they were hundreds cheaper. But it's on VA1-2 and the Velocity number was used for the booking.

NGE.

The main reason would be that VA still don't have online check-in for international flights, so their website probably has a hissy fit if you try to do so! We travel from PER and can't check-in online even for the initial domestic sector to BNE/SYD/MEL when heading to the US, as it's part of an international itinerary.

Re: total price missing from website

Thanks. I thought that had been fixed.

I just got a "check in now" email from Delta and when I clicked the link it said I could only check in online with VA!

I was hoping they might be offering Comfort Plus at a reasonable price. Can't get in anywhere to check that though. Probably via phone to VA?

If you're on VA1 and 2, I don't think there'd be "Comfort Plus" as a seat category - as far as I know, that's only on Delta metal. Do you mean the new "Space Plus" seating VA has introduced? If so, then yes, I think you'd have to phone VA.

Yes I recall seeing seating with more money sitting in it a few weeks ago when I was magically able to access my non-existent booking and select my seat. I didn't bother with it though, it was about half as much as my airfare.

I did get into the Delta site for my next flight (LAX-YVR) and upgrade to Comfort Plus for $US30. That's the leg I'm bound to fall asleep on so comfort is of more use. Never slept a wink on VA1 as it's a day flight (despite what the cabin crew tries to make us do - beddy-byes at 3pm).

Re: total price missing from website

Jeeze these idiots make it tough to give them money.

Here I am, trying to buy a heap of J seats from them and their booking engine will only go to mid way through September next year! Why do we bother?
