Vinomofo Wine Deals

My favourites were the ‘15’s and 16’s way back when they first closed down.
Actually, looking back over at my place, I think GWD had taken over The Colonial Estate rights by 2010/2011, so everything since then made by/for them. Lots of mentions of 2006-2009 TCE reds cleared by GWD.
I did also see mention that Dan Standish took over the actual winery/cellar door site.

I have a bit of Mitolo in my cellar, from good vintages, mostly GAM.
Savitar is always a more tannic, structured wine than the more fruit-driven GAM and in ordinary vintages, like 2017, can be very hard and not easy to like and maybe never will be. I bought the 2020 Savitar and decided to keep it as I think it will be good in about 5 years as those fierce tannins drop out a bit. A 6-pack of GAM 2021 on the way to me, confident it will be a keeper.

I also bought heaps of Mitolo Ridgehaven Shiraz 2019 on Grays at under $10pb and my quaffer pack people enjoyed it a lot.
Ordered GAM 2021. Curious as why it is under cork. Just opened 2019 (screwcap) and placed an order after couple of glasses of 2019 GAM

Yeah, Savitar and GAM now in slope shoulder bottles and cork seals. The Savitar 2020 uses Diam corks, hope GAM does too,
I have to say that it seems I have unfairly tarnished the whole Mitolo collection when only one misfit was an rapscallion that tarnished my opinion close to a decade ago. I can now finally forgive that particular episode in my Fo life and move on. Very commendable reviews coming forward suggest a clearer path has been laid. Possibly made for the fo was not the same as sold by the fo but the bitter taste it left in my mouth was only dispersed upon the arrival of a Gibson reserve Shiraz 2015 which re programmed my nine and a half million taste buds and left a nice satin sheet covering as protection for the future. Back to business. Thanks Red for the updates.

Another titbit, Mitolo Wines is the wine offshoot of Mitolo Family Farms, the largest grower of potatoes in Australia and the originator of the Carisma potatoes with "25% less carbs".

I think some Mitolo like Mitolo Cantinere Shiraz for example were exclusively made for Vinomofo.

My experience very similar. I still have a few of these (Exile, Emigre, Mungo Park). Although as Redbigot points out, these are most likely not made by the original Colonial crew.

Interesting that 2020 Savitar is still available at the same price as 2021 GAM

Yes, a little surprising given the difference in RRP, they must be wanting to move on to 2021 Savitar. Many 2020 reds from McLaren Vale I've tried have been relatively lean and some quite hard and having poor acid balance (too prominent). The Savitar I tried is better than most 2020 McLaren Vale Shiraz I've tried, including the disappointing high priced Alpha Crucis efforts.

Yeah, I also checked and they were 2008’s mostly - how time flies! Standish should be doing a good job I guess…

I’m still waiting for some Black Friday single bottles to be delivered. Listed as paid but don’t seem to have been shipped yet. Anyone else in same boat?

Yea, no sign of shipping on By Farr RP Pinot Noir 2022 (1pk)
Same here, made contact via chat ...delay in "arriving into warehouse" the official line, however no firm ETA (now wondering what they were selling if it's not in the warehouse to be sold).

10 days now and not shipped. I contacted them today and they claimed the items haven't yet arrived at their warehouse. I'll be contacting them everyday until it ships.

UPDATE: I did contact them again this morning. I was told that they now have the items and they will be dispatched soon. Then got this email:

"Hi David,
